I usually looooove Elena but on New Year's Eve, our experience was not amazing. We got there at 21:00, no one was coming in after us so we wanted to take our time. Right away the waiters didn't even bother talking to us, asked right away if we knew what we wanted. Kind of felt rushed but still went ahead and asked for cocktails with our salad and mentioned that we would then have a pizza and pasta with a bottle of wine. We were halfway through our salad that the pizza and pasta arrived... 5-10 min later the waitress comes and asks what bottle we would like. At that point we decided that we weren't staying much longer and therefore just asked for a glass of wine instead. Our plan was to stay there until midnight but we really felt rushed. The space between tables felt smaller therefore we felt like we were having dinner with the people next to us. When we were done eating, we asked for the bill. Had to then wait 20 minutes for them to bring it (when honestly at that point all we wanted to do was leave!).

Wow Wow Wow. Another outstanding experience at Elena. Our server was top notch. Our dinner was outstanding. We love Elena as it is consistently delicious, fresh, and unique. The service is always great. Can not say enough about how awesome our experiences have been.

I was skeptical at first because of the limited menu but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was phenomenal and parking was so simple on the street which was contrary to what I imagined.

I rarely leave bad reviews, but this was the worst dining experience I’ve had in Montreal. It took 40+ minutes and two servers just to place our order. The waiter gave us “on the house” lemon shots we didn’t ask for (nice gesture), but then charged us for them…? We had to ask for the bill to be corrected.
After finally getting our food (which was good), the waiter offered to pack the remaining 1/4 of my pizza to go. Many minutes later after he didn’t bring it, I asked about it, and he just says “sorry I think someone threw it out”. No real apology, just “Do you want a free dessert?” I said no, and he replied, “Okay, well have a good night.” Then I proceeded to pay for a whole meal, even though they threw out a quarter of my meal.
It may have been an off night, and it happens to everyone, but the lack of accountability or even a proper apology on any occasion was unacceptable.
