Despite the name, this restaurant is not in the “Vieux Port” (it’s a block north of it, in Old Montreal). Small but nice space. Tortillas/guacamole was tasty and the tacos were yummy, if a bit lacking. The service was good. Only real disappointment was not being acknowledged at the door…we stood there and watched a bartender and at least two servers look at us without saying anything. Small thing but it didn’t exactly make us feel welcome.

We suggested this place to my daughter and her friends who were traveling to Montreal for a weekend because we had an amazing experience when we had gone a few years back. We experienced unique cocktails being out together right in front of us and exceptional food. We kept ordering little snacks because we couldn't believe the flavors. Obviously things have changed. My daughter and her friends were disappointed with every single order and the cocktails were nothing special. They ended up paying a massive bill and had to go elsewhere to eat. Very disappointing 😕

we were super hungry and had no reservations and it was the last day of my mom’s bd weekend.
Diego was our server and he helped us to pick the good ones in the menu and he did amazing. Service was fast and food was great. I’d recommend guacamole chicken mole and tuna tostada ☺️ thanks to great service and awesome food.

The service was amazing- our server was so nice and enthusiastic and gave great recommendations. The food was delicious- particularly fantastic cornbread and delicious tacos. I had one of the best mojitos I’ve ever had. Their churros for dessert were also incredible! The patio also had a lovely atmosphere. 100% would go again and would certainly recommend to others!

Had a fantastic experience at Escondite! The food was absolutely delicious, and they offer a great selection of drinks to pair with your meal. The staff were very attentive—special shoutout to Diego, who took excellent care of us and made the evening even more enjoyable. Highly recommend

Slowest service ever. Average food quality and taste. The server didn’t even bother to note food allergies and got the wrong dish. Not happy with what we paid for it even though it’s a touristy area trap. Totally AVOIDABLE.
