The superior of the bagel shops from our visit… get the sesame with cream cheese and smoked salmon, such a yummy combination. Wouldn’t recommend the blueberry bagel, found it very doughy. Cash only or Canadian debit cards

IF YOU’RE A NON CANADIAN, BRING CANADIAN CASH. The only credit cards they accept are Canadian or else you’re facing a credit card fee.
The food is alright. As a New Yorker, I find the bagel texture odd, but at least they’re priced well and FRESH. Still tasty. There’s no visible menu to let you know you can get toppings on your bagel, including lox and capers. The schmear is simply Philadelphia cream cheese, so you’re really not getting anything special here other than fresh bagels. Best to get as many bagels as you need and get your fixins elsewhere.

Overrated, but I loved seeing their Israeli bagels 🇮🇱🇮🇱
My brother brought them back to the USA for us to experience the ultimate culinary delight. Now I’m on a mission to find something that comes close to these incredible flavors. The flavors are truly sublime. All dressed is my absolute favorite. When I order, I stock up on several dozen and freeze them for a rainy day. From there, I refrigerate them until toasted to perfection. Yum!! They are a game-changer!!
Heard a lot about this place. Got the sesame bagel which was quite good and very cheap. Not going to lie though, the bagel 10 mins walk away at Saint Viateur was way better and the line was faster.
One of the BEST🇨🇦👍
Their all dressed bagel is the best bagel I ever had. Sesame bagels are always fresh and they recently got some limited edition bagels like canada bagel, rainbow bagel, and they released something called bonuts which is interesting. Definitely recommend it. The staff are very friendly too.
Very very small place, not much room to move around, you can't eat there, it's bagels without toppings. Please note they do not take international bank cards, you must pay in cash

Finally tried Fairmount bagel. It lived up the hype. The store is tiny yet full of character. The staff were nice and friendly. The bagels are delicious!
We had St Viateur’s bagels before. So we were wondering which one tasted better. We bought st viateur’s bagels (which is around 5 min walk) to do a blind test. :D
Fairmount’s are slightly sweeter and firmer. They are also slightly smaller compared to St Viateur’s. Eventually st viateurs won 2:1 after our voting :) but that doesn’t mean fairmount bagels are worse. They are both good with their own characters.
We will continue to get both bagels and debate which one tastes better for the foreseeable future:D

I think this is the best bagel in Montreal! Line moves quickly, and fresh bagels available 24/7. Just sad that they don’t have a sit down area and don’t make any spread sandwiches for you.

Fairmount Bagel is an emblematic Montreal address that perpetuates a well-established tradition. The bagels are delicious, with a slightly crunchy texture on the outside and soft inside, perfectly balanced. Freshness is always there, especially when you have the chance to buy some freshly baked.
The choice of flavors is wide, with essential classics like sesame or poppy, but also options that are a little more off the beaten track. The approach is more traditional than innovative, but that is what gives it its charm: respect for authentic recipes, without trying too hard to do more.
It’s a place you return to for the consistent quality and simple but satisfying experience. Whether you are a regular or a curious visitor, Fairmount Bagel remains a safe bet for enjoying a typically Montreal bagel in all its simplicity.
