Perfect place to ease my homesickness. They have authentic Chinese comfort food. Services are really good as well.

Fung Shing has been serving the community for 50 years, and I can’t help but feel a little envious of Montrealers for having such a historic Chinese restaurant. The food is amazing and the service feels so friendly and welcoming. I saw many customers talking with the servers like old friends—clearly longtime regulars who have been coming here since they were kids.
It’s more than just a restaurant; it’s part of the city’s dining culture. I was genuinely moved by the experience.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience on Saturday night, thanks to our amazing waitress, Lu. We enjoyed perfectly cooked wontons, General Tao chicken, ginger chicken pots, and salt and pepper shrimp — and Lu made the whole evening even more special.

Her smile was warm and genuine, and she was always ready to answer all our questions with kindness and professionalism. We were on our honeymoon, and her attentive service truly made the night feel even more perfect.

Thank you for making

The ambiance, service, and quality of the food were all wonderful. Our family, including two children, enjoyed every minute of our visit.

Lu’s gracious service and warm hospitality made the experience even more memorable. She has a pleasant smile and communicates exceptionally well.

This restaurant is definitely worth a stop when you’re in Montréal. It offers a unique five-star experience near Notre-Dame.

Went for lunch while visiting Montreal with my partner and was our favorite meal! Service was amazing, all the food tasted delicious with great portions AND the house red wine was 10/10. Would recommend :)

Amazing food! I’m Cantonese and this was the best Cantonese food I had in Montreal. Their wonton noodle soup (云吞面) was delicious and came with 18 wontons packed with shrimp, and their steamed fish with vegetables (時菜鱼片) was so tender and flavorful.

Highly recommend!

Great nostalic Chinese restaurant opened since the late 70's. Nothing fancy just good food at honest prices. Same decor as 50 years ago. Not a place for the fussy or faint at heart.

I've been going to this restaurant with my family for over two decades. The service is friendly and attentive to allergies (I am allergic to sesame seeds). The menu has something for every taste, age, and a delightful chill atmosphere. It fills my heart with joy every time I get to share a plate of general tao, tea, and good cheer. Portions are also great for the price. Highly recommended, will eat again, and again, and again...

Worse chinese food ever !!!! I have been a long time client of this restaurant ,since the 90's, but they are getting worse and worse , nothing is good anymore . There wonton soup is not like it use to be , neither is there cantonese chowmein . Today i decided to try a few dishes that i never try before from this restaurant , that was on rebate on uber eat , mapo tofu , salt and pepper tofu and sesame beef . HORRIBLE!!!!! They put curry/cumin powder in the salt and pepper tofu , it look and taste awful and super salty !! Same thing for the mapo tofu, the taste is weird and they are using hard tofu instead soft tofu . Sesame beef has soo little meat , it is all cover with a thick soft batter. Called in to complaint ,the manager is not there , the guy that answered the phone doesnt speak french and can hardly speak english . He asked the cook, and told me that they are using a new powder/or try a new way to cook the dishes and tell me he's sorry if i dont like the taste . Well when i order an salt and peppers tofu , i expected to get that , not some experimental curry/cumin taste that has nothing to do with the original taste !!! You guys need stick to the old style chinese cooking , other wise change your menu . And you better find a new cook before you'll close your restaurant . What a disgrace!! Never again for me .
