I was so sad to see Gia Ba go on Monkland and was SO happy to hear they reopened on Somerled. Such great dishes - some of my favourites are: Gong Bao Brussels Sprouts, Szechuan Cabbage, Green Beans, Eggplant, Salt & Pepper Squid, Beef & Broccoli, Cumin Chicken - list goes on! Definitely worth a try for takeout one night!
We were so sad when Giaba closed on Monkland, and have been missing it since. We survived the pandemic thanks to them (and a few others). So happy that they reopened (take-out and delivery only). Same excellent and amazing menu. To our knowledge, there’s no equivalent Szechuan food in Montreal.
Gia Ba has amazing "non westernized" dishes. If you've never had chicken with chili and mushrooms, go run and try it. It's not a stir fry dish, it's a braised type of dish of chicken thighs in a spicy oily sauce with shitake mushrooms. It's one of the best dishes I've ever had and is pretty much all I order.
