Visit 16.08. around 2:30 pm - I stopped in for one beer - when paying the bill, the waiter handed the payment terminal with the amount of 14.63 pocketed. As I later checked the price was under 10. Choosing for the customer what tip to leave is an unusual practice, for me it was the last visit to this place.

Philly cheesesteak sandwich is by far the worst sandwich i ever had in my entire life, if you are checking in on the menu don’t even bother, overpriced ciabatta bread with 1 paper thin slice of dry disgusting beef, the worst brunch experience ever.

Came here for breakfast. There's construction outside so a little hard to get in. Place was not populated, was about 8:30am. Was greeted by a beautiful hostess. Had one of the egg packages with sausage, ham, bread, potatoes and crepes. Pretty good deal to be honest.

First visit here was disappointing unfortunately and I wouldn’t come back. The staff were lovely but I found a hair in my food. Door is left open so there were flies and a bird inside the restaurant. Food was ok. Was expecting peameal bacon on the bendict but it was served with thin streaky bacon. Mimosa was very weak and seemed like just orange juice.
waited way too long for nothing. come to this place if you have some time to waste :)

Very disappointed experience. Although I was told it’s a nice place for breakfast, I was expecting a fair quality-price ratio which was absolutely not the case.
I ordered the “Classic Benedict & breakfast poutine” with a Choice of ham or bacon Benedict , served with a small breakfast poutine casserole from their menu.
The plate I got was the classic breakfast which came with 2 eggs, so I told the server it was not what I ordered. She took it back to kitchen to bring back the same plate with 1 egg and hollandaise sauce and cheese over the fries.
Here is the interesting detail: If you look at the menu it says “casserole”… if they decide To just add the cheese and sauce on the fries to make a poutine, then why take away the other egg which was already prepared? Was it for another client’s order or to throw it away?
Needless to say that my plate was no longer warm when they brought it back, and obviously the sauce was not warm enough to melt the cheese which was still cold!
Also my friends were served coffee without milk, cream or a spoon to stir. Pretty basics for a minimum service level expected, and not because the place was packed or a lack of personnel.
All that for $20
So if you want to avoid having a surprise which could go either way (good or bad), I would not recommend this place.

The gal who seated me was unfriendly and then never returned to take an order, even though she walked past me multiple times and made eye contact. I left after 20 minutes.

I wanted to share how wonderful our brunch experience was at Ginko, largely thanks to our waitress, Laurence. Sometimes a waiter/ess approaches a table and you instantly know it will be a good day !!! She right away set a lovely tone.
Laurence brought such a pleasant and uplifting energy to our day.
I had actually come to brunch hoping to find a bit of brightness after receiving some difficult news.
Thank you, Laurence. We appreciated you making our time at Ginko enjoyable.

The restaurant is gorgeous, services was quick and the food was nicely done.
We tried the complet which came with a generous plate of salty and sweets, and the demi-demi béné. Eggs were perfectly cooked, the sizes appropriate and everything matches what you would expect.
A touch of originality would be needed for the presentation itself but overall very good performance

Me and my sister went here with all our friends to celebrate her birthday.
Service was so slow that the table next to us were able to go out, buy A&W, come back, and eat it all before their food arrived.
When our food did arrive, the eggs Benedict were more like hard-boiled eggs Benedict, the fries were still frozen in the middle.
The server forgot our drink and was going to generously comp it, but when he noticed we weren't going to tip for the suboptimal service, he then told us he would no longer comp it unless we tipped.

The floor was so and so dirty
Sometimes the employees are doing nothing and no one clean the floor and remove the dust from poubele
If you arrive after lunch and before dinner probably the kitchen will be closed

The food was amazing but I will say the staff seemed a bit snobby because we didn't have a reservation. I personally tipped but my friend did not and she was called out for it. She was told 15% was mandatory, which I understand is an etiquette that we should all share but to shamed for it was not something I was expecting.

We had a reservation, but the host still made us line up with the walk-ins (from the end of the line), so we ended up standing in line for over 30 minutes. The food was meh. Also, when we were eating, the waiter was arranging tables next to us and lifted a table over our heads and food without asking…definitely not the cleanest or safest way to move a table
