I loved the magical moody Japanese vibe of this cocktail bar located discreetly on Cathcart Street in downtown Montreal. Note 12$ underground parking i conveniently located next door! I loved my experience here, service at times was a little slow, but while you wait you absorb the cool vibe all around you so it makes up for it! Staff was friendly and the cocktails are cool! It’ an all about the VIBE at Gokudo so I highly recommend visiting this place. Put it on your list of must visit spots in Montreal. Thank you to the staff at Gokudo for making my bday memorable.

Great place for those are looking to live the Japanese experience in downtown Montreal.For those who don't know, they have no reservations, so you have to wait for your turn to get in, the waiting ro6om is cool with Japanese decos, we've got served tea.I've enjoyed the cocktails, Gempei.I will definitely comeback to Gokudo.

Came with my bf to celebrate our anniversary! They sat us at the booth but we were extremely close to other people, so they moved us to the bar where we met Jordan. He’s from Paris and there was a language barrier bc his English wasn’t so good and our French was ..well Gr 9 French lol! Regardless he was so kind and made us really good cocktails, gave us free shots and made our night! He curated cocktails for us based on what we liked, so if you’re up for the experience - definitely let him be creative :) we didn’t get food bc we came from dinner so I can’t really comment on that part!

Came last night and sooo very disappointed with the food. The drinks and ambience were good, but don't come for the food. I had the 28$ "poke" and it was sooo bland, the tuna didn't taste like anything, and the shrimps were tiny - the kind you buy frozen from a grocery store just thawed up. I also had the picked veggie appetizer which lacked flavour and was only mildly pickled. Don't waste your money for food here...

We didnt end up coming in. Was told first 10 minutes than after that 15 minutes passed we were told abother 20 minutes and we just left.
The place and the drinks are incredible!!! I loved it, they make a very interesting mixology. Would go again !!!

I had a great time at this Japanese restaurant and bar. The ambiance and the vibe were really nice and relaxing. The music was not too loud and suited the mood. The food was delicious and authentic. I especially enjoyed the Sake and the Maki. The service was awesome and attentive. The staff were friendly and helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine and drinks.
Soo good here def recommend coming early too can get busy. Try the drinks and great service

Food was okay. Not really up to par with the price point. Place was nicely decorated but felt a little stiff. Cute spot for maybe a drink or two on a date night. Would not consider it for larger groups or longer stays.Staff was exceptionally friendly and courteous. They provided a great experience.

One of the best bars I've ever been to!Shared a poke don - highly highly recommend, it's a tuna poke bowl with truffle and nori, so much flavor and it blended together so perfectly. Can't stop thinking about it. For drinks got the Okame and the Hojo Masako. I think Hojo Masako is one of my all time favorite cocktails, really really enjoyed it.Highly recommend coming!
