Absolutely loved my dinner at Gus Restaurant!
From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel completely at home. Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the cozy, inviting vibe of the place just added to the experience.
The food? Absolutely amazing. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and clearly made with care. The steak dish was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the sides and starters—especially the arugula salad with apples—were fresh and vibrant. The cevechi dish and asparagus with shrimp were also beautifully prepared and full of flavor.
This place is a hidden gem. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, I highly recommend giving Gus a try. You won’t regret it!
Tous les plats étaient très bons. L’entrée de crevettes et mangues était particulièrement bonne. Les portions étaient généreuses. Le service était impeccable et sympathique. Nous y retournerons très certainement. Merci à toute l’équipe.
Gus is simply my favourite
Best surf and turf in town
We were a group of 3 people participating in David Ferguson’s « Cooking class ». Great format and experience for both food and drink. We were all given the menu and recipes.
Explanations, and demonstration were given throughout the evening about what we were about to eat, how to prepare it, make it or cook it.
The restaurant being closed, and the group being voluntary kept small, it makes for a cool evening. The location is an intimate, local, very Montreal, that looks and feels lived-in. The class takes place at the bar behind which David drives it. And it’s not formal. It’s more akin to dinner with close friends.
If you are looking for something different for a special occasion …on a Tuesday (!) …well, better book early. They only have a few of these events per year.
And by the way, Gus only takes reservations from humans. Not booking engines. You have to talk to them. How refreshing ?
Highly recommeded. Very cozy atmosphere. Must try.
We had an absolutely fabulous time at Restaurant Gus and the food was downright delicious. I was actually giddy just reading the menu. I'm still thinking about the caesar salad with caviar. It honestly was the best caesar salad I've ever had; crisp, creamy, and perfectly seasoned. Juicy lardons with the creamy saltiness of caviar and the touch of heat & acidity from the peppers made for an incredible balance. All the dishes were exceptional, really. And that onglet - so damn good! The service was attentive, warm and friendly, and the cocktail & wine suggestions were awesome. The team all seem genuinely happy to be there and that speaks volumes about the leadership. There is no shortage of great restaurants in Montreal and Chef David truly has created an exceptional dining experience with Restaurant Gus that stands out from the crowd. We will absolutely return.
Get the special. Always get the special. Mussels are amazing. Staff is awesome. Don’t skip the dessert. If you’re local and this isn’t your weekly routine make it so!
Absolutely beyond thankful for the food memories we made at Gus. Besides the staff being attentive to our every needs to the kitchen allowing for us to continually add more to our ticket. Everything was great every dish gave us the best memories and we will cherish them forever.
This is one of my all time favourite restaurants ever. My brother introduced me to Dave and his team many years ago and since then we have enjoyed many wonderful, delicious meals there. I highly recommend the Ceasar salad, surf and turf or the bavette as core delights that you can always count on. That said I have NEVER had anything other than an amazing meal. Much love for this restaurant and its incredible food!!!

I really loved their beef onglet and the customer service was impeccable 10/10+10 the owner/chef was amazing as well…🔥
Great atmosphere in what is probably my favorite restaurant in Montreal. The onglet was a 15 on a 1-10 scale. The caesar salad was fantastic. Onion soup was awesome and comforting on this cold'ish autumn evening.
The owner is in the kitchen as chef, and the waiter is such a wonderful guy who took good care of us, while we were there.
We are looking forward to going here again soon.
Salmon was a little too spicy but everything else was great.
