I had high hopes for Imadake, but the experience was disappointing—and at times, downright uncomfortable.
The first thing that stood out was the chaotic atmosphere. The staff seemed perpetually confused, rushing around without clear coordination. Orders were delayed, forgotten, or mixed up entirely. It felt more like being in a disorganized bar than a Japanese izakaya.
Cleanliness was also a major concern. The floors were sticky, tables were uncleared for long periods, and the general environment was far from sanitary. For a place that prides itself on group dining and shared dishes, this was unsettling.
What really disturbed me, though, was the behavior of some of the clientele. Several male customers were openly gawking at women, making sexually inappropriate comments loud enough for others to hear. It created an incredibly uncomfortable environment that no one—especially female guests—should be subjected to. Staff did nothing to intervene or manage the situation.
The energy from the owner didn’t help either. He seemed more invested in maintaining his ego than in creating a safe, welcoming space. There was a noticeable arrogance that set a poor tone for the whole place.
Sadly, I won’t be returning. There are better options in Montreal where respect, cleanliness, and professionalism still mean something.

For the price we paid for so little food for 6 peoples was extremely surprising and the I mean little food ...13 small plates of appetizers not a complete meal and pay 500$ is ridiculous when they came with the bill ....we could've had a fest at a buffet restaurant or V.I.P ...restaurant wasn't that busy also and we waited almost 1 hour for food ...I usually dont complain but my group and I was very disappointed and definitely won't be returning to eat there again sorry not worth 500.00 😐, here's the bill and it says 9 peoples but we where only 6 that ordered and the portions where small and they charged us for 9 and for food that we never received cause the waiter put in a tasting request and we cancelled cause we were leaving and he said we had to pay anyways..and we did....but not happy .So check the bill and have a great evening.

Absolutely fantastic. Cooking steak on the hot rock was a huge hit with the kids. Ramen amazing. Fried chicken great for young tastebuds.

The best part was the service. Servers work together to provide the best service possible. Always smiling and the glass of cold water filled before even finishing it. I recommend.

The ramen is amazing!! the broth is tasty, the only negative point is the service. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly and had good advice/recommendations, but not very present. We waited a long time for water during the meal and we had to call several waiters and waitresses to get service.
Vegetarian options: Lots of choice, the vegetable tempura was very good.

The veggie ramen was completely tasteless and I didn't have a good experience. They also brought us an opened bottle, which we got upset about it. At first they refused that the bottle had been drunk but finally, they brought another bottle.

Excellent service from Bin, who was very friendly and helpful. We really liked the Yakisoba, black cod and sirloin on a sizzling plate. Not too expensive and good quality. Sake bomb is a must.
