Excellent food, the nostalgic ambiance is like somewhere in Gion, the old Kyoto, incredible! We were particularly pleased to find this charming place in Montreal as we are probably missing Japan too much...

Portion is small so eat something before you go there. However the experience and the quality of food is excellent. The food, the decoration, the music, and the owner himself, the entire environment will remind you what the tempo of life was used to be before this internet era.
Amazing experience! The food was delicious and the chef was very sweet! It's a bit expensive (check the photos from the menu prices) and the quantities are very small so don't go expecting it will fill you up lol. I had the EDO course. But you're really paying for the experience and the quality of the food.

Highly recommend this authentic Japanese resto. The Chef was so kind and accommodating. He even made a homemade rice porridge (that wasnt on the menu) for our kid and it was delicious! You can tell every dish was made with such care and devotion. Everything tasted amazing including the homemade ginger ice cream for dessert! Would defs go back!
I had my birthday dinner here. This is a place full of Zen, although it is small, it reflects the owner's intentions everywhere.I ordered the omakase set even though it was the most expensive one. The owner (he is also a chef and waiter) tried his best to prepare every dish. The taste was very good and the presentation was exquisite. I was very satisfied. My favorite was Sashimi, especially the scallops which are fresh, crisp and sweet. The ginger ice cream was the highlight and I loved it too! I will definitely come back to try other sets in the future. P.s. Please make an appointment in advance.

Cozy and lovely place. The chef is rigorous about the details.I love the way the food is presented, from the plates to the decorations. We had a great dinner time.
I go to Jardin Iwaki every time I’m in Montreal for a good reason!! The food is consistently incredible, the chef puts such effort into each bite, and he is so kind. The seven courses (Iwaki) meal is a steal and so tasty. The restaurant only has a few tables, so it feels like you have a private chef for the evening. Overall great experience every time I go, I’m never disappointed.

Cuisinier remarquable et très professionnel. Je recommande cette place. La nourriture est chic est remplit parfaitement notre estomac. Vraiment net et simple.
Wonderful dining experience. Intimate setting with beautifully plated and tasty offerings. The server/chef/owner is a discreet and gracious host—a true gentleman. We had the chef's choice with sushi, a 7-course menu with dessert ($55). The Sake list was impressive. An unpretentious little gem of a restaurant. We reserved our table and I recommend doing so inasmuch as Jardin Iwaki has an indoor seating capacity for twelve.

A one man show. It was extremely moving to see him at work, shuffling in the kitchen, and courteously providing service to the tables. As far as the food goes, it is simple and homely, at best. A lot of its appeal comes from the context in which they are served…
We had been meaning to try Jardin Iwaki for quite some time, but never got around to it. When we finally did go a few weeks ago, we had a restaurant experience like no other in Montreal. the chef/owner offers 2 tasting menus that change constantly. Though the menu is always a bit of a surprise (there is no selecting anything, though you can advise the restaurant in advance when making the reservation of any food allergies of course), we loved everything that we were served. Each and every dish was creative and flavourful, and lovingly prepared. We were served on this night by the chef himself who explained every dish. Service was well paces, though you must expect a more leisurely evening, and portion sizes that were adequate, but no more so. The dedication of the chef and his love of cuisine came through in every dish. This restaurant deserves your patronage
It's a cozy small restaurant that offers authentic Japanese cuisine. All the plates are amazing with nice presentations. A lovely dinner experience!
It was the best experience for the anniversary!I would definitely revisit here!
A one man show. It was extremely moving to see him at work, shuffling in the kitchen alone, and courteously providing service to the tables. My deepest respects for undertaking this Herculean task, day after day, relying on none but oneself.
