Yeah, the decor and atmosphere feel like a Manhattan Bowery noir--not a place to bring a fancy date... Customer service is basic but honest. The food is surprisingly good: I had the salt-and-pepper chicken, the spicy eggplant, and some Singapore noodles. They could have soaked the eggplant in salt before cooking them, but the taste is fine. I'd go back and sample more, definitely.
Amazing staff and food. My mom and I went to eat there for lunch and our waiter was super helpful and we had some fun conversations with him as we waited for our food which was delicious!!
I am sad because something has happened to this place. I have ordered from them even before they moved from Ontario street and the last order was NOT AT ALL what I was used to getting. It was bland and the ingrediants were not so fresh. You could taste the freezer burn in the meat and shrimp. the General Tao was not crispy and seemed to have been soaking in the sauce for hours. Maybe I got a bad day.. I ordered on a Saturday, maybe it was the backup cook.... In any case, I...
