Trendy spot with friendly staff and great ambiance. I'd never had shakshouka in a sandwich before but it was exactly what I needed on a cloudy 10 degree day. The warm sweet pepper and cumin flavors kept me going for the rest of the day. Love how they added feta! I will definitely be back for coffee and to try something else from the menu. Beer selection in the back was local and extensive.
Place is rather nice but the food was surprisingly bland.

One of my favourite cafes in Montreal. Their coffee always hits the spot, their dessert (especially the cookies) always fresh, and their food is halal! They also serves as a small dep with a large selection of beverages. They also sell whole coffee beans. Great cafe for socializing and just steps away from the best farmers market in the city. If you are visiting Jean Talon market, I recommend pass by here first for your coffee.

im egyptian and i came here expecting an authentic egyptian experience, given the name, kahera. i understand its a fusion concept but nothing about my visit made me feel like home. its more of a progressive style, so keep that in mind. the price for one howowshi sandwich was a bit outrageous, $14+tax. the taste wasnt bad but it definitely isnt worth that pricetag for only one sandwich and no sides. it was also disappointing that i went for their koshari and was told they only serve it in the winter, they should make that clear on socials/website. overall disappointed in my visit but every establishment has their audience

Cute little Egyptian Cafe. The owners are amazing and so many choices of local beer and wine.

DO NOT go here if you speak english. They tried to SCAM me!! Their Hawashi is 16$ after tax but they charged me 19$!!! They made it seemed like it was a “tip” but i did not even received a tip option on the machine. This place is sketchy and NOT for english speakers because they will scam you.

Ful pita was so flavourful and vegan! It was so good I ate mine and then half my friend’s, who was too full (pun intended) to eat the rest of her’s as they are so big boys!

Great Egyptian street food restaurant that’s simple and laid back. One of my favorite spots near Marche Jean Talon for sandwiches or coffee.
I last tried the ful and the beid basterma sandwiches. Both were very fresh, flavorful and satisfying.
Their specialty coffees are great as well. They have flavors like cardamom and lavender.

I’m Egyptian, so my review is based on authenticity first,
The Ful: It has absolutely no relation to any authentic Egyptian Ful recipe, it was good, very good, but not Egyptian.
Beed (Eggs) Bastirma, too much western additions, 2.5/5
Hawawshi, very good, taste 4/5, authenticity: 3/5
Bread: Tiny, you’d need at least two. I was served a tiny piece of bread.
Overall experience was not bad, but I don’t think I’ll come back.
If you’re not Egyptian though, you’ll be very satisfied. Because you wouldn’t tell the difference. 😅

Very hard to make Egyptian food bad. The tomato sauce on the koshari tastes like uncooked canned tomatoe paste. Also no salt on anything. Baladi salad with old soggy vegetables
Amazing, flavourful and fresh sandwiches in a cozy atmosphere.

Go-to coffee shop next to jean talon market. Quality coffee, amazing and food (must try their shakshouka, its in sandwich form!)
In the summer they have a watermelon salad that is delicious! Lovely staff as well, as a local to little italy, it’s a must for your daily coffee run!
