Amazing Chinese restaurant! Great service and authentic dishes. Loved everything I ordered and the portion is quite large. What I ordered could easily feed two! Will certainly be back next time I am in Montreal!

Best Sichuan restaurant I've tried so far in Montreal. I recommend you try the spicy fried chicken with bone, the lotus roots and the spicy fish.

Went to this restaurant on September 1st. The food is okay but too salty, and the waiters in the lobby are more enthusiastic. I didn't say hello when I checked out, and I was forced to add a 15% tip. The cashier had a straight face and no smile the whole time, as if I owed her a debt and wouldn't pay it back. I felt so bad that I won't go there again.
I understand the tipping culture in Canada. Generally, you will pay no less than 15%, but this is on a voluntary basis. This is the first time that I have not encountered any forced tipping in Canada in many years. The last time I encountered this was more than ten years ago at a Chinese restaurant in Jasper, Rocky Mountain.

Came to Montreal on holidays but craving for Chinese food. The Sichuan dishes here lack of Mala flavor (numbing and spicy flavor) but I guess it’s adapted to local taste. Although not completed satisfied, it did give some sort of comfort to my cravings. Service here is slow and not excellent.

Also they have two types of La Zi Ji ( spicy chili chicken) which I haven’t never seen in any restaurants, one with bones and the other without bones. The one without bones is actually not authentic at all, it’s just fried chicken with some chills, more catered for westerns. The one with bones? My advice is not to have La Zi Ji with bones as most authentic La Zi Ji dishes don’t come with bones.

Kan bei is THE BEST chinese restaurant I've been to in the one year that I've been living in Montreal. we ordered the chicken fried rice (#809) beef with satay sauce (#315) stir fried shrimps, spring roles and shrimp soup. All of them were absolutely delicious. Will definitely visit again. If you're looking for good portions, great prices, and a succulent chinese meal, Kan bei is the right place for you.

The door was opened and we were inhaling cigarette smoke from people who hanged around in front of the restaurant. But the staff listened to our complaints and shut their door eventually.

The Hot and Sour soup and the Mapo Tofu were beyond delicious. Extremely flavorful. The mapo felt like authentic shanghainese style. The dan dan noodles were also delicious but needed time to soak the sauce up.

The Sichuan cuisine here is very authentic. All the seasonings are freshly made with natural ingredients, and the chili oil is also freshly fried. The taste is very fragrant and has the original flavor of the ingredients. The best thing is the hot and sour noodles. This is a delicacy that I have never encountered in Toronto. I highly recommend it!
The materials and the spices are all made by themselves, very original and authentic flavors. The hot sour noodles with red chili sauce are especially tasty while not that spicy with enjoyable original food flavor. This is good food I couldn't find in Toronto, Definitely recommend 100%! Only three days here, eat everyday! Will come back again in the future!

Small restaurant but lots of space and large tables. Very clean. Service was fast, attentive and friendly, food is cooked to order and served quickly. We had the fried pork spare ribs, general Tsao chicken, baby bok Choy with garlic, shrimp fried rice and shrimp wonton soup. The soup was very nice, with a delicate broth and generous wonton and bok Choy. Both main meat dishes were amazing with lovely seasoning. The garlic bok Choy just went WOW it was that good. The rice was very nice and cooked to perfection.
