What truly disappointed me was being charged for things like tap water and extra bread. I’ve dined at many restaurants, and it's very uncommon — almost unheard of — to be charged for these basic items. Overall, not my cup of tea.

This new restaurant opened in July. The restaurant was very pretty. The food was really quite good. The seabass tartare was delicious as was the beef tartare. The grilled calamari was good. For mains we had the lamb chops which were excellent as was the truffle penne pasta. Service was excellent. The only issue why we would not return to this place was due to the level of music which was so not conducive for a restaurant. It was almost impossible to have a conversation. Really too bad. Management will have to decide if they want to be a nightclub or restaurant.

We had originally reserved a table for two, but when a friend joined us last minute on a busy Saturday night, the hostess was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful. She quickly rearranged things to make sure we had a comfortable table, all with a warm smile and such a friendly attitude. Honestly, she made our evening even better. Thank you so much for the outstanding service — it really left an impression!

Came by for a quick bite but the visit was strange to say the least.
When asked if we wanted flat or sparkling, I said tap. The waitress came back with a bottle and when I pointed out the error, only then did she tell us the restaurant doesn’t serve tap water to customers. I’ve never been to a restaurant in Montreal that refuses something so basic—if you want water here, you’ll have to pay for it.
To make matters stranger, the hostess spent the evening at the bar feeding her boyfriend his dinner. In between bites she would periodically go check on the front door.
Place very modern and clean, delicious food and good service. Very satisfied !

Went to Kava for a Friday night dinner and the ambiance it's nice decor , food was ok nothing so special but service was not good wait long time for main course plus music bit loud and I did not like the crowd.

Food was alright, just overpriced for what it was. The shrimp and zucchini arancini had barely any shrimp and was essentially tasteless without the sauce. Just a little salt would have helped bring the zucchini flavour out. Also for 22 dollars, I shouldn't have to dissect it to find the tiny bit of shrimp. My lamb chops were alright with the labneh, charred a little too much but that's not the worst. Didn't include any sides. Vacherin dessert was refreshing, great mix of strawberries and basil. Was expecting more meringue though. Kava soul cocktail was fantastic. Decor was stylish. Service was friendly and accommodating, appreciated the wine suggestion, just disappointed that chosing flat water would lead to a 7.50 charge for bottled water, I've only seen that in Europe and not a practice that should be imported.

I came here on Friday night and the food was mediocre and service was extremely slow. The bones were left in the sea bass, which I just feel like is not great practice for being a higher scale restaurant. There is casa azul lined up on the bar, but it was out when ordering it. This restaurant has great potential but it just misses the mark on a lot of things.

Hands down the worst experience I've had at a restaurant. There were a few items they ran out of as we were ordering. The staff doesn't know their signature cocktails (confused the Hugo with a mojito), their POS is problematic since they couldn't split the bill for the amount of people that we were. We ended up waiting an hour until we could pay, no one from management approached us to apologize or explain the situation. As we were leaving, we were informed that we should've asked for a manager as no one was made aware of the situation. What could've been a cowardly attempt at acknowledging their mess ups became a show of deflection and putting the responsibility on the customer. No one could own up to being part of management when asked. There are way too many red flags for me to support this establishment.
For context, we were the biggest group of the evening and the restaurant was essentially empty. There were countless opportunities for management to check in, explain the situation, apologize or even offer compensation for this circus of a night.
