This is a very underrated Thai/Laos restaurant. My girlfriend is from there and we go to different Thai restaurants almost every week. She told me thay Kin Khao is now one of her two favourite restaurants in Montreal because the food reminds her of home. Very spicy and delicious. We will be going back again soon and you can find a special deal for a limited time only for this restaurant on mtlarabais.com

Our dinner there was terrible.

I thought the food was absolutely delicious but a bit pricey. I ordered the grill main dish, which was very delicious but the quantity of meat was not much. For the price, I was expecting more. I thought the service was excellent, however, when we ordered Bloody Ceasar's, they did not mention that they put a piece of sausage inside of the drink before serving it to us. Other than that, I definitely would recommend this place for a new taste to try.

Every dish we ordered tasted great except the papaya salad, which seemed to have way too much fish sauce. Maybe not made for the everyday Canadian palate? Being mostly vegetarian, we felt that there was a lack of non-meat dishes. The menu didn't offer many options but apparently they will expand it as of January 2018. Definitely worth a try!

We were ordered 4 different dishes. They are all very good that are a lot more taster than we used to eat else where. We love them.

Asian fusion that is a combination between Laotian/ Thai cuisine. We ordered the tom yum soup, the papaya salad, the yam Thai salad and the grilled meat plate. Being a huge lover of Thai food and having had the chance to visit and eat in Thailand, I would give the soup a definite 5/5, the papaya salad on the other hand a 3.5/5 since the taste wasn't quite as expected, the yam Thai salad a 6/5 which was probably one of the best parts of the meal. The yam Thai consists of grilled beef, herbs, peppers and onions. The ingredients seem so basic yet the combination is phenomenal. If served in a bigger portion it could an excellent main dish! I am actually going to try making this at home at some point :-) The grilled meat brochette was a combination of chicken, beef and shrimp with steamed rice. It was good but nothing exceptional. Last but not least for desert we had the fried pineapple and it was a great way to end this lovely meal. Overall great experience and service was great. The owner made our experience quite pleasant and our bellies very satisfied.

It is one of the rare authentic Lao food restaurants in Montreal and it does not disappoint flavor-wise, price-wise is another story but that's expected considering the area. We ordered the sausages, fried calamari, tapioca balls and papaya salad appetizers with sides of sticky rice. However, the sticky rice comes in too small a portion for the price (4$). Since we were two people, we ordered two sticky rice, so that's 8$, which is pretty ridiculous for barely a handful of rice. The tapioca balls were a very interesting try. The rest of the food was very tasty and savory , however the sausages and calamari were cold when arrived at the table. Be careful, even though the papaya salad comes in "regular spicy" version, it wasn't mild, so for those who are inexperienced in that department, I would recommend you ask for a non-spicy version. The ambiance is great for going out with a group of friends or for a date, very classy.

With the groupon deal, I went with my husband last week, only 2 of us during the whole dinning hour, from 6:30pm to around 7:20pm. I guess no one is willing to go back. Here I am telling the reasons of why. #1. The food isn't back, but with much less $, you can definitely have the same or better quality of food elsewhere. #2. The portion from th groupon deal is extremely Wow? Seriously? What? A main course is shared by 2. Come on!!!! With the $ we are paying , we were expecting a bigger portion of meal. We were just shocked when the main dish ( 3 tiny slices of grills) arrived. For 12-14$, you can basically have the same thing in a Vietnamese restaurant , but they charge like 19-20$. #3. The lighting above our table , kept blinking, just don't sit on tables near windows.

I brought my friends to this place on a Groupon. The food was good, though not everything was hot and we ordered the dumplings with peanut sauce which somehow tasted Burns and I'm not sure how you burn dumplings? The Groupon allowed us to each order a soup and an appetizer and then we split between two people a main course and we each got a dessert. The main course was really not big enough for two people, and they said that this meal was worth $150 but for that amount of money I was expecting to get enough food. As well I booked the reservation about 2 weeks ahead of time and our only option with a Groupon was to have deep fried bananas, but when we got there and order the bananas they said that there was only one banana left. Now since they knew that we had reserved with a Groupon and they should have had for bananas, there's absolutely no excuse for that! They did give us deep fried pineapple which was pretty good but it just seemed pretty stupid that when you only offer one option that you should actually have the option especially when you know two weeks at a time that people are coming they're expecting it. Overall the food was good but we won't be going back
