Very disappointed with Yakimono tonight.
I arrived with my parents, wife, and children for a 5:30 PM reservation. When we got there, the area appeared to be closed off due to construction, which was confusing since I had a confirmed reservation.
We attempted to navigate around the construction zone, and in the process, my 75-year-old father slipped and fell. Two young staff members came out and informed us that the only area open was the terrace — but the terrace was literally in the middle of the construction zone.
I mentioned we had a reservation, and one of them said, “Yes, the terrace is open.” Really? It didn’t feel safe or accessible at all.
I told her the website didn’t mention anything about the restaurant being under construction. She responded, “That’s exactly what it says.” I checked again — it doesn’t. It only states that reservations are for the terrace. There's no warning or mention of active construction or safety concerns. That’s misleading and honestly feels like false advertising.
No apology. No concern. Nothing.
We left immediately and took my injured father and family to a different restaurant with far better hospitality. Yakimono, you failed today — on communication, safety, and basic decency.
This used to be our go-to sushi spot, but sadly the quality, portions, and attitude have gone completely downhill. We recently placed an order for nearly $200, and the portions were ridiculously small. When I called to question it, I was met with a dismissive attitude. The young lady’s response? “Oh well, it’s inflation. Get used to it. It’s like this everywhere.”
I’m a businessman—I know exactly what inflation is. What I don’t understand is why prices here have gone up while portions have shrunk to a fraction of what they used to be. That’s not inflation, that’s bad business.
To anyone: if you’re planning to spend your moneyhere, be prepared to grab food somewhere else afterwards, because you’ll still be hungry. I have no problem paying good money for good food, but I do have a problem paying more and getting a third of what I used to receive for much less. If you’re going to raise prices, at least maintain the portions you once proudly served.

It's a pity they are closed for sit in
Completely closed for renovations. It didn't say on the website, Google map, or Instagram that it was closed. We drove all the way there for nothing.
A Fantastic Dining Experience at Yakimono
I recently visited Yakimono and was thoroughly impressed! The sushi was outstandingly fresh and flavorful, easily some of the best I've had. Paired with their well-made Yaki sauce, it made for a fantastic meal.
Currently, they're sprucing up their interior, so all dining is on their terrace/patio, which is so lovely now with warmer weather.
What really stood out was their staff – they are truly wonderful and make you feel incredibly welcome.
It's also great to know they are a dairy and nut-free establishment, making it accessible for more diners.
Highly recommend, would come again!
Go check them out!

Restaurantji Recommends
Not recommended for sitting doing the construction, a very small place full of people, in one whiter to serve.
Best Kosher sushi!!
the food at yakimono is always delicious with very appropriate wait times and great service!
Excellent service and food however we were surprised to see that the dining room is closed for extensive renovations that will last another 6 weeks we were told. The only seating is in a heated enclosed patio and seating for only 22 people. They should advise this to customers when making reservations. The food was as good as ever.
Wonderful experience, the food is always top notch, Aurelie served us with a big smile and gave us a warm experience, thank you very much Aurélie!
