La Classe is a part of College LaSalle Hotel/Restaurant management program. Students work here and have opportunities to learn managing this restaurant. Serving amazing food at amazing price. My favorite restaurant in Montreal for lunch.

This is the cheap way to experience fine dining. The food was inconsistent and the service made itself known that you were the lab rat they were trying their hands on.
The food was good quality however some were tastier than others. For example the stuffed quail was great but the salmon wellington not so much. The millefouile was great but the verrine dessert was straight up a canned unpitted peach. For a menu with only 4 choices per course ordering is sort of a landmine.
Our waiter was brand new. From taking our orders in the most random sequence (ei. skipping over people and coming back at the end) to not knowing how to open a bottle of wine (with the standard bottle opener) or even how to pour it without it dribbling. It is my understanding that these students are completely naive to the dining experience itself. Perhaps it may serve them well to treat themselves to a fine dining meal first as an introduction before having to conduct it as a server.
For the record these things were more or less expected as this is a college. But I was hoping the bill payment step would be taken more seriously. It was a very quiet lunch and even after taking our dessert plates no one brought us our bill. This lead to one of us going up to pay for part of the bill and the splitting went completely haywire. Please remember that every meal costs the exact same. All we wanted to do was to split the wine evenly between the 8 of us. This was complicated by the fact that one person wanted to pay for their family of four while the others paid for themselves. Instead this person was charged for five people but not the wine while the wine was split between the other 3. This made for a very awkward question of who would pay for what bill (one person payed and we split it among us privately). I can't help thinking this would not have been a problem in any other restaurant and certainly could have been avoided had more care been payed to this process. 4
This is worth a go if you're short on cash and would like to try the fine dining 3 course experience. Don't order the alcohol it's not worth it and be prepared for a long meal (~2.5 hours)

We went to this restaurant for a three course dinner with affordable price. The starters and desserts both were well presented and tasty. However l personal consider the students didn't master the heat well so the main courses we had ( beef bourguignon) are harder than usual, same problem with the dough of ravioli.
Is it worth to visit? I would say YEs, kind of experience to having meals from future chefs.
But for the similar price, downtown has many choices.

Amazing food at an affordable price. You have a group of culinary students who both cook and serve the food. My dessert portion is a little smaller than I expected but considering it’s only $25 for a 3 course meal, guess I can’t really complain. Service was a hit or miss though. Some of the students are very shy and didn’t really know how to serve in a restaurant setting yet.

I LOVE this place, but for the love of God, please come up with a schedule. I am so tired of calling with no response, and getting there and there is no one, or its just completely closed. So much gas wasted, I live an hour away!! :((((

The environment is quiet and the service is very good. Thanks to la Classe , my friend and I enjoyed the meal. The orange flavor of the appetizer was a bit strong and overpowered the duck, and the arugula was the finishing touch. I really, really enjoyed the passion fruit dessert, it was really good!
