After trying their cod croquettes last week at another restaurant, we just had to go to the source and experience more of their delicious creations.

We decided to indulge in some burgers that sounded divine—and they were even better than we imagined. The Ham-Burger featured a crispy ham croquette on brioche bread topped with tomatoes, piparras, lettuce, and slices of ham. We can't describe how incredible and satisfying this was!

The second burger we tried was an onion soup croquette, with mustard and pickles, which left such a lasting impression that I'll be dreaming of it for a while 🤤🤤

They also serve an in-house fermented lemonade that was so refreshing; we absolutely loved it.

We appreciated that they insist on using all organic produce, nothing processed, and you can truly taste the quality.

Las croquetas are really tasty and i recommend trying all the different sorts to understand the concept of this place!

This little thing is easy to eat one after another while chatting, and non stop with the owner ‘s special lemonade. When you come to your senses, you have already eaten a huge amount of calories.

The store offers different flavors every day, depending on whether you are lucky. I prefer Spanish ham filling and garlic shrimp filling. The minimum order is six. The safe way is to order different flavors and try them all.

Then, I packed a dozen and took them home. I will cook them in the air fryer and eat again.😜

Honestly, I expected more for a specialty place. The ham was the best

Canada’s first croqueteria! It is THE place in Montreal to try traditional (and not so traditional flavours) Spanish croquetas. They are little nuggets of deep fried bechamel. Crispy outside, warm and creamy center, it’s a wonderful finger food to try. The service is A1, the owner is so passionate and loved to share the story behind his restaurant. A must try!

Honestly these were better than I expected, it’s suggested to get a box of 6 or 12 (you pay per croquette) and try several flavors. Our favorite (which they recommended) was the ham. Perfect little snack that’s easy to take on the go, would come back!

Ordered through Doordash, took twice the time advertised, one hour instead of 30 minutes, was of course cold, and delivered in an unsealed package, that driver could have done anything with my food.
Bad experience is bad.

It’s the closest I’ve been to a world-class competition in my entire life and it was almost like watching a solar eclipse. Seeing the best cyclists in the world descending the side of Mount Royal at dizzying speeds, I was so impressed and admired that I almost became euphoric. Completing the extravagant procession, many SUVs carrying spare bikes even seemed to be struggling to keep up. It was all the more electrifying as I stumbled upon the event by pure chance heading to La Croqueteria with A as the restaurant of the day. From the small terrace of the small restaurant-counter, we could hear the cheers of the crowd and notice the runners racing up the avenue du parc.

Once the euphoria dissipated and my head settled back on my shoulders, I still remained in a state of contemplative well-being throughout the meal. For this, I can thank A. whose pleasant company never fails me, the perfect feeling of warmth in the shade of 4520, avenue du Parc and, of course, the excellent Spanish croquettes of the establishment. They were all finely breaded, so slightly crunchy, and then smooth once the shell was pierced. Instead of listing my favorite croquettes, I simply suggest that you order at least their “must-haves” and the croquette of the day (at least, if you are like me and enjoy the variety of flavors).

If you only opt for 2 or 3 pieces per person, be aware that this quantity will be clearly insufficient to satisfy your hunger. Therefore, we also asked for the “ham-burger” that the friendly and jovial waiter/cook/only employee had presented to us as his favorite: a very good sandwich, not “juicy” unlike a real hamburger, offering a look different on their most popular croquette, the “jamón”, with an interesting combination of flavors with tomato sauce, piparras, fresh ham… which won’t necessarily fill you up either. However, I will be careful not to lament it, since we only paid, in the end, $17 per person and we could have easily afforded two or three other small bites.

Furthermore, the most important thing is that my meal with A. brought me into the present moment. I didn't think about anything else, except what my skin, my eyes, my taste buds, my ears were communicating to me. The combination of these sensations constituted a moment of perfect relaxation which rewarded a week of hard work. So I thank these delicious restaurants which, like La Croqueteria de Montréal, motivate me to work hard. I also thank these incredible athletes who inspire me to also give the best of myself.

Vegetarian options: The delicious “cheddar” and “Catalan cream” croquettes

Parking: Since the street was blocked to cars, I had to go quite far away (500 meters), but that didn't matter! Walking on such a pleasant day is a joy.

Kid-friendliness: Yes, summer with the small terrace.

Wheelchair accessibility: No. The terrace is also only accessible by climbing two steps.
