My first visit, I had an almond croissant, and a chai latte. The almond croissant seemed fresh, mildly warm. The chai latte was a bit sugary for me, it had pinch of cinnamon which made the latte even better. The chai latte had perfect temperature. The lady at the counter was kind and welcoming. It was not the busy when I came, so I got everything served in 5 minutes. When I am in this area again, i will definitely visit here again to try other food items.

I enjoyed Le Végépâté which was amazing and filling. The atmosphere was lovely and although close to a main street my group didn't have to shout in order to communicate.

Such a nice cafe to work in with « homey » vibes. I come here a lot. I love their sandwiches and vegan chili with homemade corn bread. 😍Prices are reasonable. The service is always great too 👌

La Luncheonette is truly a neighborhood gem that went above and beyond for our professional networking breakfast. Despite our ever-shifting attendance list, the owner and staff rolled with the punches, showing an incredible level of friendliness and flexibility.
The cafe itself is a beautiful and cozy space, perfect for a relaxed start to the day. The comprehensive menu catered to everyone in our group, easily accommodating various dietary needs and preferences with numerous vegetarian, vegan, and non-dairy options.
But the real star of the show was the food. I had the breakfast croissant, and it was simply amazing—flaky and buttery, with a light, fluffy egg filling. The flat-white I ordered was rich and robust, the perfect complement to the meal.
This cafe is a must-visit for anyone looking for a welcoming atmosphere, exceptional service, and delicious food. I couldn't recommend this place more highly!

Very cute spot. I visited for the first time upon having just moved into the neighborhood, and I was looking for a spot to sit down for a hour or so and read some articles for work. It was midweek and minimally crowded, the choice in music, which was oscillating between something like IDM and modern Jazz was honestly perfectly suiting my vibe. I had the salad of the day which was some type of lentil-based affair with a vinaigrette, and a cold brew along with it. It was a buttload of coffee, so I eventually asked to take it to go, and the staff were super friendly, indulging my chatty side a bit. The neighborhood/vintage atmosphere made it a cozy place to pore over a few pages between bites of lemon square.
Whatever you do, don't say you're eating in when there's a lineup at the takeout counter. You will not even be looked at even when it's not relatively busy. Sat for over 10 minutes without a single word or glance thrown my way even though staff were walking by. After being ignored and watching the guy at the counter only serving walk-ins and speaking on the phone I just left.
Positive:
-Good food and affordable prices (the pulled work was tasty)
-Good amount of tables where to seat
-Fast and nice service in French and English
-Free wifi and outlets available to work or study with your laptop
-Music is on low volume, so you can focus without being disturbed by it
-Cute ambiance with the decoration, and an outdoor terrace available.

Such a cute spot! We were served by two wonderful and friendly people (Jess and Conner). I ordered the mango ginger smoothie and it was unlike anything I've ever tasted before, it was fantastic! I highly recommend it!
We ate on the terrasse and next to us was this lovely little snail (photo attached), it really added to the experience and made it even more magical
You will love it here!
La Luncheonette (4271 Rue Saint-Jacques, Montréal, QC H4C 1J7) - this place intrigues you right from the street! ✨ You can tell just by looking that it's something interesting.
Walking in, you step into a completely awesome atmosphere. First off, the music is great, and second, the decor is really beautiful. Absolutely everything - the chairs, tables, paintings, mirror, coffee bar - is just magnificent. You can feel that everything was done with taste and that both the owner and the staff put a lot of heart into their place. I'm thrilled! 😍 I especially loved the table by the window in the corner. You can not only relax there but also immerse yourself in the street life of Montreal. 🚶♀️
The staff here is fantastic - friendly and very pleasant girls. 😊
The coffee is excellent, strong - exactly what I needed in the morning to wake up. ☕
The pastries, sandwiches, and burgers - as far as I understand, everything is handmade and looks incredibly appetizing! 😋
I highly recommend La Luncheonette. If you're nearby, you absolutely have to check it out! 👍

We went for the first time on Saturday Nov.2nd at around 12:30!
Amazing Coffee, but the service was terrible, super innaficient and terribly slow, we ordered a pesto bagel with a breakfast burrito, the pesto bagel took sooo long to finally end up sitting for ever on the shelf where the orders are waiting to be brought to your table.I even got up to ask the cook if was ready, she gave me an attitude when I asked why was it sitting there for so long.People were getting up and asking if they had forgotten them!!!And if they had forgotten their orders!!At one point the cook started stocking the oat milk for sale??????
Both servers disappeared behind a wall?? Then one of them started doing dishes leaving a whole bunch of orders sitting on the shelf ready to be served.??
The breakfast burrito never even made it to our table
Finally we payed and left,to bad ,very bad organizational skills!!
