Of course this restaurant is touristy, not much in old town Montréal escapes that description, but at the same time it is absolutely wonderful. Both things can be true we discovered. We sat inside and proceeded to have French onion soup, Caesar salad and the best chicken either of us had ever had. What made it more that just exceptional food and a great spot was the waiter Manuel. He has been there for 35 years and his service was extraordinary. I hope he is appreciated by the owners. He made it a memorable night for both of us.

Excellent location terrible food. Pretentious yet inattentive service. In a city where gastronomy is part of its identity, There are better options than this tourist trap. Skip this place

My husband and I came here for our first night in Montreal and stayed for about two and a half to three hours. We ordered a salad and three dishes right at the start, but it took an unusually long time for our food to arrive. We even noticed a couple of other tables, who arrived after us, being served before we were. The service was extremely slow, and while the food was okay, it was far overpriced for what we received.

I was okay with their $12 virgin drinks untill they decided not to serve me tap water and deliver very poor service.
For some reason they decided to serve tap water to the gentleman next to me.
This establishment is a must avoid.
Check out my other reviews, I leave good reviews when due.

The servers are very rude and so is the owner. We asked for water with our drinks and we were told tap water is not provided. And bottled water will inquire charge. We didn’t leave a tip as we only got a drink to go and we were called out on it

The service at this place is absolutely poor. I stopped by with my family because it was one of the first restaurants with an outdoor terrace we saw, and we simply wanted to have some drinks. We had just arrived in Montreal for the first time, it was a hot afternoon, and we were unfamiliar with the area.
From the moment we approached to request a table, the hostess asked whether we were planning to order food or “just drinks.” If it was just drinks (as she bluntly put it), she said we would have to vacate the table within 30 minutes due to “existing reservations.” This already felt unwelcoming, but since we didn’t know the area well yet, we accepted the condition.
Ironically, the restaurant remained at about 50% capacity the entire time we were there, with several empty tables around us. Still, the woman at the entrance kept giving us unfriendly looks, as if waiting for us to leave. We ordered several drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, as we were quite thirsty.
An hour later, with the restaurant still noticeably under-occupied, the same woman came over and literally asked us to leave, claiming that the two people who had just arrived (we were a party of four) had a reservation for our specific table—a claim that was clearly fabricated. Many tables around us remained empty, yet she insisted this table was theirs. The entire experience was extremely unpleasant.
With humility, we consider ourselves a well-traveled family, having visited many countries, and we have never been treated this way anywhere in the world. It’s unfortunate that this was our very first impression of Montreal. Perhaps the woman made assumptions about our spending capacity based on how we looked—if that was the case, she was gravely mistaken.
Ironically, shortly after being thrown out, we discovered dozens of beautiful restaurants nearby with excellent service. We ended up having a fantastic dinner at one of them, spending over USD $600 and leaving a generous and well-deserved tip for their outstanding service.
We don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but in this case, I made a point of writing down the name of this establishment, as I felt compelled to give it the review it deserves.
We do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The service is extremely poor.

My daughter and I have had a hard time to be able to plan a mom and daughter time due to her work schedules… so we had planned an evening out in
Montreal to go for an early supper than to the Ballet .
I had called the restaurant to book reservations and I spoke with the owner David Dias ( what a wonderful person… so friendly!!) I explained my situation and he was more than willing to accommodate out time frame … the food was amazing ( I am a high end chef by trade so food is my passion) the service was outstanding and we ended up skipping the ballet and did an amazing tapas experience that brought me and my daughter back to our trip to Portugal and Spain. !! We spent over 4.5 hours eating a very well spaced out meal with wine paring and talking which was a well overdue mom and daughter outing that my daughter and I was blown away with how amazing everything was !
We found out that this restaurant is a generational owned family business and we were even served by the current son who took over when his beloved father has passed away during Covid … David explained that he always worked with his mom and dad and now his son is working with him … wat a wonderful family and business so heart warming and a place to go to for an amazing experience it definitely made memories for me and my daughter Amanda !!

This place is good, I would recommend the chicken Piri, you get to eat at a nice place in the old port and get out with around 40$ and I was full by the end of the night. They also give you free bread and olive so I would skip the entree and dessert. The waiters are very kind and have an old school style to them which I appreciated. If you really want to be at the old port and find a nice sit down restaurant, this is a nice option
Only thing is weird is why the plates are super hot, I'm seeing microwave here and I'm guessing that is why. I find it odd...but the food was good so
Top notch in food, service and atmosphere. The 2 waiters were really amazing. We forgot to ask the other gentleman’s name. One of a kind was Manuel who cooked the steak for us. Their service was truly sincere, so welcoming and very generous.
Sautéed Foi Gras, Garlic Prawns, Scallops, and Flamed Fillet Mignon were all superb!! Thank you so much.
