Had a great time at the restaurant tonight... Service was a little slow after main course served as restaurant got more crowded. Meals were good... They actually have dinner specials as well as their main menu offerings.

$58 for the WORST steak dinner. I could have gone to the Keg spent LESS and had a way better meal. Tiny piece of steak, 1 and a half mini baby potatoes, a couple hard carrots and 2 slivers of broccoli for $58. It was outrageous pricing for what you get. It was like buffet food at a 3 star hotel. Awful. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! It is not good. Heavily overpriced. I’m so sad I spent so much.

The waiter alone in the entire restaurant was trying and was very nice but the food was horrible and was probably all made out of frozen or canned sources. Last time I eat there. They used to be good so feel sad for them.

WoW. This is my first time at the famous L’académie, and I must tell one of the best meals I’ve ever had in a while. The food is excellent quality and delicious. I took the veal parmigiana and the Mediterranean sausage, on the table my friends took the AAA filet and there was the spinach and mushroom soup. Everything was excellent. The place is narrow but cozy and warm as ambiance. And there is nice background music that makes you feel you are in France or Italy. Wow. I really recommend it. Please see the photos attached

Had our first visit to this restaurant last night. Host could not have been more accommodating. We brought our own bottle of wine and we were informed that there was no corkage charge. He answered all our menu inquiries. Food was excellent as was the service and atmosphere. Will definitely visit again on our next visit to Montreal

A bit expensive for what you get and for the bland taste but the portions are large and it’s a bring your own wine. This was very easy to reserve however for our large group (12) and the location is quite central.Parking: It’s one of the busiest streets with lots of bars and restaurants and parking is very hardWheelchair accessibility: There are stairs and you cannot get a wheelchair in without lots of efforts

The food was good and fresh, I had simple Cesar salad and a steak. The service was really good, I was their only customer at the time I came so the ambience was a bit awkward but I felt pampered, their service was really good. I would go again and try to explore their menu a bit more.

We had a short window to find a place for dinner and eat something delicious. Being from out of town, we struggled to find a spot in the sea of crowded restaurants on Crescent Street in Montreal. We stumbled upon this restaurant which was further away from the bustle of the other restaurants. At first, I was concerned bra cause of the lack of activity. The food was delicious except for the Caesar salad, which tasted like it came out of a bag. The carbonara was the highlight of the meal. The service appeared to be slow but we were in a rush to get to a concert so this may not be a fair assessment. Oh by the way, no alcoholic beverages served here. The ambiance was chic and modern. I will definitely have it a try again hopefully with more time to spare.

I've only ever eaten at l'Academie once in my life so this was the second time. I was a bit hesitant to go but my group wanted to try it out. The interior looks old and dated...with mustard yellow paint. Our booth seat near the front of the resto was also tired and the fabric was piling. While this might be French dining, it definitely isn't finery. That aside, our group wanted moules et frites so I decided to give it a try as well. It was a Monday night and apparently, the mussels are $8 off, meaning it cost only $21. That was a pleasant surprise when I received the bill. I asked for flavor recommendation and the waiter suggested the Flamande as a popular option with leeks, white wine and cream. While the broth was flavorful and creamy, there were about 8 mussels that didn't properly open (probably undercooked). The fries were definitely the least tasty fries I've had in a while--texture-wise, they were ok but tasted like fries cooked in older oil(?). I wish they would've served crispy coated fries instead to really soak up the broth. You can BYOB/W here but we didn't. The poutine while wayyyy overpriced for what it was worth was alright but nothing to write home about. The little house salad was also expensive considering it was just a spring mix with a few strands of carrot tossed in salad dressing. Anywho... our friends really liked their cheesy Coquille St-Jacques with a couple chunks of shrimp and scallops and lots of gratineed cheese. Service was basic so overall, for a Monday mussels dinner, I think it's sort of acceptable given the discount.
