Very authentic. I ordered the sichuan fish soup which was very large in portion size and tasty. I also got the stir fry vegetables which was just delicious. I think their prices were reasonable for the portion size.

It was a lovely atmosphere where the child of the owner was present, though minding her own business behind the counter. I’m surprised I did not know of this place sooner. Definitely coming back.

As somebody grown up with spicy food in China, I am quite picky with restaurants that claim to serve Sichuan food. This is one of the few authentic Sichuan restaurants in Montreal. It's our go to spot every time we are in town.

You can eat malatang here if you ask the lady that you came for the malatang. The only thing is that the price is quite high, but it tastes sooooooo good. Had to go back.

The restaurant is located in a semi-basement area and is not very noticeable from the outside.
The interior also felt like a slightly shabby snack bar rather than a Chinese restaurant.
I ordered three dishes: lazuji, sujuyukpyeon, and stir-fried potatoes. Surprisingly, the stir-fried potatoes were unexpectedly delicious.
Overall, the meal was satisfactory, but it wasn't a restaurant that tourists would go to on purpose, and it felt like a restaurant where students eat.
I ordered two bowls of rice and the portion was huge.
We accept credit cards.

A place that doesn't look like much, but where the cuisine is authentic and excellent! My wife is from Sichuan and she was delighted. The taste is very rich with a wide variety of spices, in the classic style of the region.
Be careful, if you don't know this cuisine, if you order spicy it can be *really* spicy. Ask for advice on how to properly adapt the level! They will by default offer you a more suitable spice level if they have the impression that you are not a regular.
And don't forget, to relieve inflammation in the mouth, eating a little rice slowly works much better than drinking water (it heats up a little at first then "absorbs" and reduces the burning sensation)...

My family and I picked this place based on the ratings, and unfortunately had a very very disappointing experience. We ordered 3 dishes, medium spicy, and a large bowl of rice. We are Chinese, enthusiastic eaters, and typically enjoy Sichuan cuisine.

- The 3 dishes we ordered were ALL EXTREMELY SALTY. Not just saltier than our preference, but SO salty that we ordered another stir-fry cabbage, and asked for no salt and no spice, JUST to be able to eat our meal. (Medium spice was much spicier than we expected. However the spiciness has NO impact on my review of the flavour, since it's subjective). We brought up the saltiness to the staff and they said "oh". The stir-fried cabbage was fine.

The rice, although generous in portion, was hard, like it was a bit undercooked. It truly felt upsetting to not even be able to enjoy the rice, given how salty the food was.

- After everything our bill was $95. The meat dishes had a lot of filler. The 水煮牛肉 (boiled beef in hot chili sauce) had some pieces of meat but was mostly bean sprout. The "dry pot" stir-fry was half filled with crinkle cut fries of all things?? Not worth $25 for the dish.

Service: I appreciated that the staff let us bring in an outside drink. I did not appreciate that nothing was offered in response to the saltiness of the food.

Even though all 4 of us were hungry, we couldn't finish the food once the cabbage dish was done because the rest of it was so salty. We packed up the green beans and the rest of our stir-fry so that we can re-cook the leftovers with more ingredients and balance out the saltiness.

I really hope that given the good reviews that this was somehow an off night. If others usually have a great experience here, then that's great. But for me, this was one of the most dissatisfying restaurant experiences.

5/5 I went there for spicy malatang and my friend and I were so happy with our food. I asked a little spicier than average, and it was perfect. The restaurant is quite small so it's a good place for a small team or individuals. The owner is polite and nice.

It’s very unpalatable, and a serving of spicy hot pot costs 40 dollars after tax. The main reason is that the food does not match the price.
