As somebody grown up with spicy food in China, I am quite picky with restaurants that claim to serve Sichuan food. This is one of the few authentic Sichuan restaurants in Montreal. It's our go to spot every time we are in town.
The restaurant is located in a semi-basement area and is not very noticeable from the outside.
The interior also felt like a slightly shabby snack bar rather than a Chinese restaurant.
I ordered three dishes: lazuji, sujuyukpyeon, and stir-fried potatoes. Surprisingly, the stir-fried potatoes were unexpectedly delicious.
Overall, the meal was satisfactory, but it wasn't a restaurant that tourists would go to on purpose, and it felt like a restaurant...

It was a lovely atmosphere where the child of the owner was present, though minding her own business behind the counter. I’m surprised I did not know of this place sooner. Definitely coming back.
