Definitely a must-go. Le Bremner has taken a stand on the lobster issue in Nova Scotia and is choosing to support the Mi'kmaq fisheries by not selling lobster until treaty rights are respected. Thank you for supporting the Indigenous People ? You have my business!!

My second visit in over seven years. I remember the first time with friends was outstanding, and this most recent visit confirmed my first impressions. Last time we ate in the back which if I remember correctly is slightly opened to the elements and was a cool vibe in the middle of summer. This time I brought a family member for the holidays and obviously we ate indoors in the cool cave-like dining room. The staff is very friendly and despite having a casual professional attitude the menu is gourmet five stars terroir dining. You do have to be a little adventurous to try some of their offerings but everything was delicious. Would highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Decided to come here after one of the best meals we've had at Garde-Manger (Chuck Hughes' main restaurant). The sister restaurant does not live up to the hype, and was quite disappointing, both in food and price. The tartare (pictured) wasn't the best iteration of a tartare I've had, although the cavatelli was delicious (also pictured). It had a very stick demi-glace sauce that was welcoming, not like a traditional pasta sauce, very unique. The most disappointing part of the meal was definitely the Catch of the Day, which was one little piece of cod ($33) that was battered and deep fried, served along side a wedge of lemon and a little metal cup of house made tartar/gribiche. Although it tasted OK, it was absolutely no different from any piece of deep-fried fish and tartare that I have had in any pub for $14. Thought there was a lack of imagination and creativity there. Imagine getting a wonderful free range chicken from BlueHill, and deciding to dredge it and deep fry it with a sauce that completely overpowers the nuances of the bird. It's the same thing with the fish, just tasted like old oil and gribiche.Expected better. I wouldn't return or recommend Le Bremner, although I would recommend their other spot in a heartbeat.

Tasty food served quick and with friendly service. Lots of ambiance and you feel like you are immersed in a cozy pub with foodie caliber bites. The veal tartare shawarma is incredible. Pancakes are a must to finish off the meal. Sitting at the bar was comfortable and it felt like a team is serving you.

Amazing service. Deliciously simple dishes with complex flavors and quality ingredients. Everything I look for in a night out.

Umproportionally expensive. Inconsistent quality:some very good dishes, most mediocre. Cozy setting but too crowded. Great waiters but not enough to cover feeling of missing value for what was expected from this price class.

I had passed through Montreal before but never visited the cool quaint converted basement former living quarters of yesteryear, but made a point to eat there this past February 2020 while on business. Although the temp was -30 Celsius, I was going to make it. First, you absolutely have to make a reservation, even if you want to eat at the bar, which is not a bad choice. I arrived and the guy looked at the reservation list and asked me if I was (name), and nailed it. He put me right at the bar and introduced me to my neighboring seat mates and started his superior service game!!! We reviewed the menu and I told him I was raised in New Orleans and there I would just ask the Chef to serve me whatever he wants and we can pair it with drinks! Total absolute best choice. Every serving of food was a work of art and perfectly blended with flavors and seasonings. The chef actually came out several times to ask about what I ate and thought. By the time desert arrived (which were multiple different small portions) I could not find enough superlatives to describe and compliment the entire staff/chef on a fantastic culinary gourmet dining experience. The bill ended up around 100.00 USD including 3 Blanton’s Bourbon and the one they comped. So, if in town, call early and book a reservation and forget about the menu and just say “Have the Chef just serve me his best creations “

My husband and I had dinner at Le Bremner last night. Maybe our expectations were too high because we had heard good things about it, or maybe it was just a bad night, but we were both sorely disappointed. Although we both enjoyed the appetizer (tuna and tahini) very much, both main courses were very disappointing. The swordfish was not sweet and sour as described by the waitress, but rather salty and dry, and the ossobuco, although very tasty, was also very dry. The breadsticks were tasteless and not crispy and fresh. The dessert (deconstructed limoncello cake) was merely okay. From a restaurant in this class, I definitely expected better quality. Also, the music was way too loud and was not turned down even after we asked for it. We will not be back and will not recommend it to our family and friends.

I don’t know what I can say that everyone hasn’t already said. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is great and maybe even the best part is the service, from the second you step through the doors it is seriously top notch. The price for quality of food and service is on point and I would not hesitate to come back!

@lebremner for my very first time @chefchuckhughes place and I can guarantee you I definitely can’t wait to go back. Believe it or not they serve pancakes for dessert and that was a first for me and I had OMG moment at how everything and everyone were perfect. Love discovering and sharing new places with you especially when the outcome is AMAZING ❤️??❤️

We came upon this place by accident hiding down stairs from street level. The staff were great from the moment we went in despite not having a reservation. The place is small, but not too noisy. The menu is also small and not inexpensive but totally worth it. We had several different dishes and we couldn't fault any of it. The staff also recommended some great wine. Altogether a great experience. We will go back next time we are in Montreal.
