Tried the homemade chai here. I appreciate their artisanal appeal but I do wish it was spicier and stronger. Service is excellent as is the location... right by Jean Talon farmers market overlooking fresh produce.

Café du Marché is one of those spots we make a point to visit every time we’re in Montreal. Located right inside Marché Jean-Talon, it perfectly complements the market experience. While the market itself is famous for its incredible selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, this little café is where you pause to enjoy the moment.

The café has a small indoor space and a few outdoor tables, evoking the feel of a classic Parisian bar or coffee corner, where people stop by for a quick espresso or a drink after shopping at the market. The atmosphere is lively and authentic, with a steady flow of both market vendors and regulars, which speaks to its popularity.

We ordered an espresso and a cappuccino. The espresso was strong and flavorful, while the cappuccino was made the proper way, with just the right balance of milk and foam. For those who prefer a simpler option, they also serve regular coffee with free refills, which is a nice touch. Beyond coffee, they offer breakfast options and a variety of drinks to enjoy at any time of day.
Be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially on weekends when the market is at its busiest. That said, the friendly service, good coffee, and vibrant market atmosphere make it worth it.

Café du Marché isn’t just a café, it’s part of the Jean-Talon Market tradition, a spot where locals and visitors alike gather to recharge and soak in the market’s energy. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

If you want great customer service, or need a cup of real matcha tea, this place is great! It's a sweet open air cafe which we visited during farmer's market. The staff is extremely flexible and accommodating. Nice selection of baked goods.

Matcha latte was very dull in colour and had a stale taste. Cold brew also lacked flavour. Fantastic service, though!!

I love this place. My favourite place to have coffee and they have the best almond cake and their sandwiches are so fresh. Staff are friendly and can help me get the exact coffee I need. The place is cozy and sunny.

No bathroom in the sit-down restaurant. Drink coffee at your own risk.

After a quick trip to the market, I was feeling a little hungry so I went home. And I saw their menu having several lunches and varying dishes. I decided to order the pesto chicken panini which cost around $10. I thought it was a little expensive but oh my god it's worth it the panini is not too big nor too small. We taste all the ingredients! I would come back to eat for sure! The service is incredible and the atmosphere is very beautiful with the market right opposite.

Superb little restaurant....there is still this restaurant that hasn't changed too much despite the horrible changes at the market this fall...

The iced matcha latte I ordered was good, but the matcha was mixed very poorly so I had a lot of chunks in the bottom.
