I tried Le Falco recently. It’s a nice café with great potential, but there’s room for improvement.
First, the positive: all my stars go to the atmosphere. It’s a great spot to work or have lunch. There are plenty of seats and outlets, and it’s easy to focus.
Now for the negatives. The barista at the cash could have been much friendlier and more helpful. When we arrived, the place was empty. The counter is set up at a 90-degree angle, with one side for food and the other for the cash register. Since there was no lineup, we went straight to the cash and completely missed the food display. The cashier didn’t mention any food options, and I only noticed them when I walked toward the washroom.
There were a few pastries near the register, so my friend asked about one. The barista just pointed and said, “It’s that,” without explaining anything. It came off as rude.
We were also excited to try the siphon coffee. She just poured us pre-brewed siphon coffee, which took away from the experience. I didn’t like the taste either. They do have other options.
We stayed a couple of hours and enjoyed working on our laptops. It’s a great space, but the customer service definitely needs improvement.

Following the positive reviews online, I ordered the onigiris, and they were disappointing. They were almost entirely rice, which is fine in some cases. However, they were overcooked and tasted extremely under-seasoned.

Very nice place with a good vibe/atmosphere. I tried the onigris which are fresh and delicious and which are made with love by a Japanese chef. I also tried their siphon coffee which is rarely found in Montreal. I recommend this place on the borders of the Plateau Mt-Royal/Mile-End/Rosemont districts in an industrial sector of the city.

The good surprise of this district, in the middle of an industrial quay district visibly undergoing restructuring

This is a very different type of high end coffee shop, and the uniqueness of it makes it very appealing. It has a Japanese feel to it, the onigiri lunch options and miso soup are excellent, and the siphon style coffee is also top notch; its also something I've never seen elsewhere in Montreal. New owners have taken over, and the quality seems to have been maintained. Overall a great place to sit, eat and have coffee.

I communicated three times by email with the new administration to purchase a few items. ZERO RESPONSE. I called there to explain this oddity and also checked their email address. I was told the owner would call me. ZERO ACTION. ZERO RESPONSE. ZERO + ZERO = ZERO. How strange it is, when the old administration responded to us the same day and did everything to accommodate us and often on the same day. Clearly, the former administration was really interested in us, customers.
In short, I solved my problem by buying elsewhere and more than I expected. I'm actually on my 3rd order. Finally, I also read the other comments from dissatisfied customers. I find myself there through their comments.
Calm and friendly, I had a salad with two onigiris.
I loved it and I have absolutely nothing negative to say.

This place is a gem. I often go on my lunch break and order the 2 onigiri + soup. Today i stopped with my toddlers and husband. Even though they were about to close, they generously welcomed us in. We had a asian noodle and mushroom salad, a chicken kale gluten free salad, a tofu burger and a side of potato salad. It was all amazing, all of it. And the brownie was incredible. Now i’m mad because i will now be overwhelmed with great choices on my next visit. Try it.

The place is very nice. That said, the coffee was quite bitter and the sandwich very average for the price.

my most favorite cafe in Montreal ☕️ I love the architectural space alone, it’s perfect for meeting friends or studying. I always get their soups and bowl or onigiri combo, all the flavors are so comforting and delicious. I tried a chai latte the first time but I don’t really recommend it, my go-to is their specialty syphon coffee !

Great atmosphere, friendly service, and wifi available. Loved that they had both great coffee and Japanese style food, an unusual combination that I definitely appreciated!!
