A restaurant certainly of quality, but which does not meet the expectations established by its price. Positioned as one of the most expensive tables in Montreal, the experience was somewhat disappointing due to its formula of simultaneous "distribution" to all tables for each service. The chefs themselves bring the dishes, which is not unusual in large culinary establishments to show off the behind-the-scenes of the restaurant. Here, however, it seems to be formulated to cover up the obvious lack of servers, which translated into an obvious lack of service (despite the valiant efforts of sommelier Cécile to cater almost single-handedly for the 30-40 guests...) We appreciated the enthusiasm, humor and passion expressed by chef Antonin Mousso in his generous explanations of each dish, flawlessly raising expectations. However, another fault of the system, the said dishes were all lukewarm when eaten. And unfortunately, the flavor combinations lacked cohesion, taste surprise and balance (for example, excessive salty note in several dishes, or a scallop cooked to perfection but completely masked by an aggressive sauce). The contribution of "prestige" ingredients (caviar, truffles, foie gras, lobster) was very modest, not allowing their presence and their cost to be justified. Favorite of the evening: the “Magnum”, decadent and delicious. I wish they'd just come across a weaker menu and execution than they're used to. However, it is difficult to justify a recovery at the asking price.

What an incredible experience, like no other I have had. The wine pairings with the several courses are a must. The explanation prior to each course and at your table are very informative. The staff and host are also very approachable, professional and very thoughtful. It was like going to a friend's for dinner. Highly recommended!

I had the chance to discover Le Mousso, a restaurant that far exceeds expectations. What struck me was the deep commitment to local producers. Chef Antonin Mousseau-Rivard does not just select quality ingredients: he personally knows the artisans behind each product, their know-how, their passion. This is felt in each plate, where the freshness and authenticity of the flavors tell a very Quebec story.
His passion and good humor are contagious, permeating not only his cuisine, but the entire atmosphere of the restaurant. The service is impeccable, supported by a team of pleasant and fine servers, worthy of the chef who knows how to celebrate and honor them at the slightest occasion.
Each dish is a surprise, an unexpected marriage of flavors and textures that arouses curiosity with every bite. Imagine Wagyu beef enhanced by a sea urchin sauce: a bold and perfectly controlled contrast, where the richness of the meat meets the salty delicacy of seafood. Each creation is a sensory exploration, a subtle balance between tradition and innovation.
The experience is magnified by the sommelier, whose bold choices surprise as much by their origin as by their harmony with the dishes. Its pairings are a journey in themselves, revealing unexpected wines but perfectly matched to the chef's creativity.
Mousso is not just a meal, it is a true celebration of culinary creativity, local terroir and teamwork. A must-visit address for those looking for a unique gastronomic experience in Montreal.

The chef and his team exceeded my expectations! Well-crafted menu, extensive ingredient research, sublime presentation and I really loved the chef's speeches to present the dishes! Highly recommended and I will come back during the summer for the new menu! Well done!

Our experience at Mousso was strange. While we knew service would only start once everyone was seated, waiting for late arrivals felt frustrating. The food presentation was overly elaborate, sometimes distracting, and one dish was served on raw hay without warning—an issue since my partner is allergic to hay.
The wine pairing was good, but the waitress consistently poured less into my partner’s glass than others, which was noticeable and odd. The sparkling water also lost its fizz quickly. Despite these issues, the staff were kind, but overall, the dinner felt inconsistent and underwhelming.

We spent a total of four hours at the restaurant, and I have to praise the space—it’s incredibly comfortable and spacious, with cozy chairs. The overall atmosphere was warm and inviting! The staff were both enthusiastic and gentle, always smiling, which made it feel like they genuinely enjoyed their work. The whole evening was relaxing and pleasant, making it a perfect place for dining and conversation.
Food & Wine:
When I first saw the menu, I was excited—everything I love was there! From shellfish, lobster, and scallops to beef, fish, and duck—I was really looking forward to it. However, in terms of pairing, the wine selection and sequence were even better than the dishes themselves! The portions weren’t overwhelming, just the right amount, and you could really feel the chef’s dedication and passion in every dish. Each course seemed carefully crafted to be delicious.
The Downside:
Since every dish was a highlight, none of them truly stood out. There wasn’t much connection between the courses, which made the overall three-hour experience feel somewhat lacking in cohesion. The seafood proportion was quite high, leading to some clashes in flavors. A few dishes had a slight fishy taste, and overall, I found the seasoning a bit on the salty side.

Reservations need to be made ahead, needed to book very ahead of time. All night they only serve one group flow. Around 6 I went in and about 7 they “close the door” and start the first course until they close at 10 it was 13 course something. The food definitely worth to try. Good food materials. It would be a recommendation for someone travelling to Montreal.

It's no. At this price, you have to know how to distinguish between pretension and know-how.
Dishes certainly complex but almost all without taste interest. Interesting texture here, oh they took nitrogen there, oh the lovely dehydrated raspberry leaf. Take a bite and well… No surprise. No surprises in our disappointed mouths. None. A restaurant with such high quality pretensions.
But BE CAREFUL!
If you want to pay for something fancy but feel like you're in an all-inclusive setting, this is the perfect place. For each dish, a G.O. different each time (so that we can meet all the young cooks - those with rallying cries) comes to clink a glass to address the entire room to describe each dish. And then, the sommelier who gets started. Blah blah blah (too bad I'm alcohol-free but hey, let's listen to the joke). A delicate and personalized service? Nooo. Summer camp!
Sorry if you find this harsh as a criticism but at the price paid, don't take us for tourists.
