One of the few high-end Chinese restaurants in Montreal! The food is authentic Szechuan, so be prepared for spicy food if you order from the special menu (it's worth it). I highly suggest reserving and pre-ordering the Peking duck, lobster, or Vancouver crab. Unlike many Chinese restaurants, service is excellent here. The free parking after 5 is also appreciated. Decor is casual-chic. And also unlike other Chinese restaurants, the place is spotlessly clean. I'm so glad Piment Rouge is back. It's a great place for a casual meal or a big celebration. Cheers to the Ma family!

Ordered on Uber the most disgusting meal I’ve ever received, spicy chicken was chicken spine the Shanghai style noodles with shrimp and vegetables had 3 tiny shrimp and 2 slivers of red pepper and the pork loin dish so overcooked it was hard to chew. To be fair I’ve eaten there and it has been really good that however was a while ago I don’t think they will last very long unfortunately.

We have been to this restaurant multiple times, and it is our must-go if we are in the area!
First time there. Suggested by a friend. Excellent choice and quality. Every bite was delicious. Staff was receptive and helpful. Will go again. Is now one of my top Chinese restaurants to eat at.

The best best best Chinese food you can get in Montreal, or in Quebec. The owner, the chief puts love and respect to the good they make. I almost cried when I first came.

Great ribs, attentive staff
As someone who’s lived in Montreal for nearly 20 years, I have to say—this is one of the best high-end Chinese restaurants in the city. We ordered several authentic dishes from the special menu, and every single one impressed. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, presentation, and flavors make it well worth it.

Wow, this place is seriously overpriced for Chinese food. It felt like I was mainly paying for the service and atmosphere, neither of which is really why I go to a Chinese restaurant. I came in craving authentic flavors, but left pretty disappointed.
The only dish I actually enjoyed was the 肉夹馍 the baguette they use made it not very traditional, but surprisingly tasty. On the other hand, the 酒酿元宵 were honestly a letdown. As someone from southeastern China, I found it insulting like even Haidilao’s version tastes better. The braised eel dish was only spicy and salty, with no depth or fragrance, and just didn’t taste well-balanced at all.
Can’t even remember what else we ordered, maybe some dumplings and noodles, nothing stood out, and def not going back again.

The peanut butter dumplings were some of the best I’ve ever had! Staff was extremely warm and the service was excellent, all set in a beautiful atmosphere. Definitely will be coming back.

Great experience and a MUST in the Montreal food scene especially when it comes to Szechuan food. The staff is welcoming and the food lives up to its reputation. I highly recommend trying Le Piment Rouge, you will not be disappointed.
