Restaurant à éviter si vous voulez passer un bon moment gastronomique.

Honestly the worst restaurant on Prince Arthurs Street and one of the worst to bring your wine to Montreal. Food exceeds and poorly executed, (they are not even capable of making gravlax). the menu and the quality of the dishes served are a real joke for the asking price. Never go eat the cook's advice...the new administration clearly has no idea how to properly run a restaurant. Save yourself some time and go eat ayeure.

It's sad... We loved this restaurant a few years ago, but with young children, we haven't been back for a while. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we immediately felt that it was no longer like before. Not as lively, not as clean, not as warm and far fewer customers than before. Their onion soup was very good, but otherwise it was all that was left of the old experience. Dishes without wow, without magic and bland. Once the meal was over, we said to ourselves that this was the last time we would return to this restaurant. And to make matters worse, while we were finishing our bottle of wine... we saw a mouse walking around the restaurant... Which we told our waitress. The manager came to speak to us to tell us that the owners were going to contact us about this inconvenience... never heard back. That adds one more reason to never go back there again.

The atmosphere is very friendly and authentic
Our waitress was welcoming, despite the fact that she told us rather sharply "tonight we don't have crème brulée, so it's chocolate mousse... or nothing!"
Table d'hôte menu to taste starter + main course + dessert.
I take the beef carpaccio, nothing to complain about, classic. I just tell myself that I was lucky when I look at the entry of my guests who were treated to three poor snails fighting a duel in a casserole dish and three pieces of "raw" salmon advertised as gravlax . Frankly, at $12 for a la carte starters, it's borderline.
The dishes arrive! I ordered a piece of chicken breast with fries, arrived pieces of thighs (sorry?) covered in cheese (sorry??) with industrial fries (sorry???). For a $32 à la carte dish, it's impossible not to think that we're being taken for pigs. Speaking of pork, my guests weren't comfortable when we brought them a sausage and a half (honestly, "artisanal" sausage, my eye).
And we end with a semi-cooked chocolate, announced with vanilla ice cream, and which arrives without, as you can imagine!
We will end with a positive point despite everything, pets are accepted in this restaurant, in any case the mouse who accompanied us during dessert did the end-of-service entertainment...
I'm not used to writing incriminating comments like this, but the final price of $72 (including tax + tips) doesn't make it easier (especially when you're presented with the TPE with a minimum tip of 18% *cough cough*).

Tiny portions and very bad food! For a meal for three, here is the recap:
- half a sausage (probably from the nearby grocery store)
- undercooked fries
- burnt chicken with cheese on it (why?)
- Salmon gravelax (3 pieces of frozen salmon)

In short, $72 per person to meet the square's mascot and die of hunger on the way out!

A shame when we know that it was a good place a year ago..

Moral: read the comments ?

Honestly, I'm taking the time to write a review because we were hesitant to try this restaurant.

We had excellent service and exceptional food. You could feel the freshness and quality. The waitress took care of us like we were family. It’s sure that now it will become our little restaurant, bring your favorite wine on the tray.

I had excellent memories of the Square, where my partner and I had an excellent evening a year ago. Sadly, the place is a shadow of what it once was. We chose the starter + main course formula for the evening. The starter for me - ancestral tomatoes like Di Buffala mozarella - was really not up to par, the tomatoes were really ordinary - certainly not ancestral - and the mozarella completely basic, worthy of Saputo - not to mention the fact that the portion was tiny.
The rest was fine - dry, bloody chicken, defrosted and lackluster salmon, and anemic sides. We were charged $2 for the basket of bread.
The waitress, although friendly, was not up to the task (taking utensils out of your pocket still looks a bit cheap...) In short, for $100, I was frankly disappointed.

The new owner of the place doesn't seem to know how to properly run his restaurant, and that's a shame. To avoid.

Nice terrace, good service. The cuisine has changed somewhat.

Cold but efficient service, the food on the other hand is disappointing, from starter to dessert, nothing was really good. I tasted much better frozen snails, the parmesan in the beef carpaccio had no taste, the spaghettini was bathed in oil, the salmon steak was overcooked and the vegetables were too greasy when the dessert was half-cooked. was overcooked with a severe lack of chocolate taste and for the crème brûlée the container was only half full and the taste was not there either.

It's a plus that it's a BYOB unfortunately too expensive given the quality of the food.

My partner and I made a reservation on a Saturday at 8 pm.
When we arrived the server tried to push us away by saying they weren’t taking any more customers. We informed her we had a reservation for 2, which she questioned as she didn’t believe us. After showing her the reservation confirmation, she told us to sit somewhere, looking unpleased. Her tone and body language made it clear we were not welcome, and she seemed annoyed that they now had to serve us.
We then waited almost 15 minutes without seeing the server again. No menus, no water, no acknowledgement that we were sitting there.

I completely understand that mixed-up reservations can happen, that’s fine. But I would hope the service and treatment of customers would be professional regardless.

I rarely write bad reviews, but this felt very disappointing. My partner and I were feeling bad as it seemed we were bothering them with our presence. We ended up leaving and booking at La Prunelle because we didn’t want to feel like a bother our entire night. The other restaurant thankfully still had space and we proceeded to have a lovely dinner there.
We were looking forward to trying Le Square, but I don’t believe we’ll try to come again.

Very disappointed. The dishes were bland and expensive for the quality offered. Lackluster service, one dish not served. For bread butter, it should rather read bread margarine

This was truly a deception. This place used to be really great - french food at it best, nicely located and for an abordable price - that was my experiment on september 2023, when I last came. This time it was really bad - food was very poor (heirloom tomatoes with mozza di buffala appetizer happened to be regular tomatoes with low-end mozza, chicken was scarce and dry, salmon was obviously frozen and not fresh). Our waitress was kind but she couldn't do much to help with the bleak fooding. For 100$ I was really disappointed- Le Parc is definitively no more what it used to be. It seem that the new owner of the place don't know how to properly manage it - which is a pity.

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. We didn't realize though that they didn't serve alcohol so we had to go buy our own right at the beginning of the meal, and they didn't have decaf coffee. Otherwise it was amazing!

As I live in the neighborhood, I like coming to this restaurant. This morning, I wanted to enjoy brunch... Arrived at 10:30 a.m., no one at reception except the floor scrubber with his mope... A lady comes out of the kitchen to tell us that the waitress is in the toilet and to seat us... A few minutes later the same lady comes to tell us that she cannot find the waitress. So we went to St-Laurent and found a nice bistro with a welcome desk and a waitress.
