Nice little brunch spot in villeray. The food was good, the french toast was not too sweet which was good. The iced chai latte is a must try!

The place is small and cozy. We stayed at the bar and it was ok for us.
The food is different than what we expected, in a good way. Had a poutine which was worth it and had 2 options of sauce.
Coffee good, staff friendly and place is very well maintained and clean.

Dropped by Toasteur Villeray for a midweek brunch around noon, and despite it being a weekday, there was still a lineup — a good sign that this spot is popular! Seating is quite limited, and since they don’t take reservations, I’d recommend going earlier if you want to avoid the wait.

I ordered the “Brouillarde à la Marocaine” and asked to swap the goat cheese for halloumi (not a fan of goat cheese) — the staff was super accommodating with that, which I appreciated. The dish came with a fresh green salad topped with a few chunks of watermelon (a refreshing touch), and some nicely baked potatoes on the side. Overall, it was flavorful and satisfying.

The cozy vibe and solid food make this a brunch spot I’d definitely return to. Worth the wait if you have the time!

Good morning for a fantastic breakfast experience and I must say that it was just so..The food was exceptionally good as was the service.. I was served by a beautiful young lady who was very courteous and always a smile shone on her face.. Simone you just became my favourite server of this decade and shall make it my mission to visit you and
Le Toasteur Villeray very soon.. Thank You

I live in the area and this is the best brunch food in the borough. Unfortunately the service is incredibly slow. Almost always an hour wait to get a table, despite their recent renos adding a second floor of seating, and then when you do get a table, it takes forever to have your order taken, drinks and food to arrive (sometimes an hour for the food to come), and for the bill to be paid. It’s sad because this place truly has a great atmosphere with a great rotating menu (always with allergen-friendly options) but it seems like they are always understaffed. The staff always seem rushed and behind on everything, and I wonder if there’s only 1 person working in the kitchen (my guess).

I really feel for the staff who work here, and each of them are lovely people truly, but unfortunately the slow service makes it really undesirable to eat here, unless I arrive like as soon as they open, which is not brunch hours.

I also wonder if they hired more people in the kitchen or the food came out faster, if the wait time overall would be quicker.

Hope one day the business invests in hiring more staff.

Waited 40+ mins for the food, service very slow. Bad management. It’s unfortunate because the food is really good.

This place has a very cute exterior and interior. So at least the setting was pretty; this made the ensuing 1.5hr wait for food slightly less painful. Even to get our drinks it took about 30 minutes!

In terms of the food: I had the matcha pancakes which I thought were pretty mid – kind of dry and crumbly. Not to mention that there was no maple syrup provided? Banana bread slice was also mediocre.

Cute atmosphere, but ultimately the service needs to be faster.

Amazing food and atmosphere. We came specifically because of the vegan options and they did not disappoint. There’s a separate vegan section in the menu. Coffee was great and they offer plant milk as well. You can tell the owners genuinely care about the quality of the product and service they provide.

I'm not a Quebecian, but I visit Montreal regularly and this is the one place I always come back to! This brunch spot is just amazing, unlike anywhere I've ever been! Their hospitality is out of this world, their drinks are the most refreshing and their food is the tastiest with also a lot of vegan/vegetarian options 😋

I can recommend Quebecian or tourist to come here and have some brunch and enjoy the real taste of Montreal!!
