I enjoyed a great coffee and a freshly made breakfast while catching up with a friend for a couple of hours. The service was both friendly and professional. I recommend this place.

Every time I am in old Montreal, I pass by to Les moulins Lafayette, they have the best paninis in Montreal. Today I tried the baguette with prosciutto, peach and Brie, it was so creative and original , so good !! Also tried the grilled chicken panini with avocado and cucumbers and a sriracha lime mayo indeed fresh and delicious ! They always have new recipes and they never disappoint!

This is a wonderful and charming little cafe in Old Montreal. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is just fabulous. Mouth watering pastries that are not too sweet, and delectable sandwiches and salads with some of the best coffee made our lunch memorable. Highly recommended!

RE: the racist waiter- in response to the comment by the restaurant: many of my friends and I witnessed the older waiter saying these racist remarks to us, unless you don’t consider what he said to be racist? I’m sure he wouldn’t have said that to someone who looks French. I have never made unprofessional remarks, unlike the waiter at this place. The food was good but I wouldn’t come back here due to the racism is what I’m sharing based on my experience.

It speaks very well of the business that even the owner or the staff that takes care of Google reviews doesn’t apologize once. They don’t recognize racist remarks as racism. I wish I had a video of it to share because there would be no way you could continue being unprofessional about this and not apologize once and instead victim-blame.

Vegetarian options: There’s vegetarian options but the establishment will be racist about it.

RE: the racist waiter who said "Lasagna is Italian, we are french" in which my friend posted a review and the restaurant responded to the review saying that on the sign it says that it's frozen and only served for events--> we can read and understand most French (some of our group is fluent) but where on the sign does it say it's only for events? It only says it's frozen but made by the bakers.

The waiter could've responded and told us that the lasagna is only served for events so not today- but instead said that "lasagna is Italian" and acted as if this restaurant didn't serve lasagna?? Which is clearly on the sign?? We are visibly people of colour but we are not stupid to not know the origins and get laughed at like that?

My only regret is that our group didn't get that on video or your restaurant would've been blasted online. Again, sorry this review is in English and not French (or Italian). Everything else about the place was great but the staff really ruined the experience.

Great little spot for super fresh pastries and coffee. Karam will welcome you as if you entered his home, taking his time explaining all the fresh sandwiches and pastries to you. Will come here every time I return to Montreal.

Karam is the absolute sweetest. He’s so patient and takes time to explain everything on the menu. Will absolute return.

First of all, the food was DELICIOUS! My meal was made to order & was perfectly executed… even for a picky eater!
The service was lovely & the owner welcomed everyone warmly in French & English, & she was both personal & PERSONABLE, thanking us as we departed. The restaurant had that old “mom & pop” atmosphere, even in the heart of a modern business district. It checked every box for me: clean, good food, good vibe.???

Not only was the lemon meringue tartlet frankly not good (very little taste and completely soft and mushy meringue), but they added a tip to my payment without even asking my opinion, while I was taking the tartlet to take away (therefore without service). The name is only there to look pretty and attract people looking for French-style pastry quality (you won't find that quality here).

Edit following the response: showing bad faith will unfortunately not change the bad taste of this tartlet, I did not say that it was not fresh but only that it was not good. In addition, I didn't have to do anything other than swipe my card when paying, so no, this tip problem definitely does not come from my not understanding how a machine works. Improve yourself instead of trying to blame your customers.
