We spent the last day of 2024 having lunch at L'Express, and it was the perfect way to close out the year. The restaurant has an elegant, timeless vibe that makes you feel like you're part of something special the moment you walk in. Service was flawless—attentive, warm, and professional. The chicken pâté appetizer was absolutely to die for, and the homemade ravioli was rich, delicate, and full of flavor. An unforgettable meal. We’ll definitely return next time we're in Montreal!

Joelle made our evening wonderful with his recommendations and service.
Beef tartare and bone marrow were a smash hit followed by the caramel dessert!

Bone marrow was done little differently than what I expected. Duck confit and salmon was perfectly done.

Restaurant has been open for a long time and is a blend of classic French and Montreal fare. Food was amazing. Complimentary table gherkins with mustard was oddly delicious. Profiteroles for dessert were also a highlight.

By far one of the best restaurants in Montreal. Incredible French Bistro on St-Denis. The service is fantastic, the food is delicious, and the cozy atmosphere is immediately greets you.

Each table comes with complementary pickles, dijon mustard, and bread!

The duck and veal kidneys are a must have. Finally the Ile flottante dessert is massive, but delicious.

Worst service I’ve ever seen. Not recommended.

Overrated. Great fries but salty, steak average compared to UK/US standards, bread hard and dry, homemade ravioli good texture but didn't like flavour, food overall compared to Toulouse France not even close. Waiter spat whilst talking and landed on my fork, noticeably wetting the table sheet. We put on the note that it was a special occasion but they did nothing, and they didn't get our coat from the hanger on the way out despite tipping.

The ravioli and fries were fantastic!

Came here because this is one of the few places open late on a Sunday. We had a great time. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
The place has a diner vibe when you walk in, but it's much more upscale than any diner I've ever been to.
We shared a bottle of Raventos i Blanc Conca Del Riu Anoia De Nit Rose
All dishes were delicious and beautifully presented.
My main the shrimp risotto had a deep rich flavor with perfectly cooked shrimp and rice.
We also highly recommend the meal kidney and the fish soup.
Unfortunately we were too full to check out the desert menu. Will definitely keep this place on our radar for next time

The MTL version of ‘Mid night in Paris’. Great wine at reasonable prices. Classic dishes that maintain their charm over decades.

I wish I could have given a better review, but the octopus was like caoutchouc, the salmon overcooked, the canard confit too salty.....but overall the service was good.
