Good food. Had the pasta with meet sauce and it was delicious. Good selection of wines. Service was excellent and beautiful and charming place. Not expensive for a tourist area.

Cute spot in Old Port, Old Montreal.
The placemat also served as the menu. I loved that there were fun facts scattered here and there. It also worked as conversation starters.
Another interesting thing here is they have an unlimited self-serve salad bar for lunch (unsure about dinner). They had kale! There were a couple of salad dressings and a variety of toppings. What was memorable was the sweet, sweet corn.
Bread and butter were served at our table. I didn't expect this for lunch.
#14 Spaghetti with meatballs CAD$32 - The meatballs were good, but the spaghetti was lacking. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was just ok. (I had another Italian spot for dinner that night, and L'usine just didn't meet the bar.) The menu said this is the classic from L'usine.
#19 Le Grand Prix CAD$38 - The lamb chops were pretty good! However again the pesto pasta was lacking again.
Credit card/Apple Pay accepted. Bathroom is down the stairs. It reminded me of being under a pirate ship for some reason. Only indoor seating

If your italian, do not come here ! The Sangria was good and refreshing and that was the best part .
Atmosphere is nice but I feel compelled to WARN people about the food. The meatball tasted like they put a big chunk of meat into a ball with ABSOLUTELY NO SEASONING. So dry and awful. And the meat sauce, equally as awful and again, no seasoning.
My son got the fettuccine alfredo and since that sauce only has 3 ingredients, they SHOULD be nailing it. BUT they didn’t put enough parmigiana so it wasn’t salty enough. AGAIN, ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOUR.
The bread basket was dry, day old bread that crumbled apart because it was so dry. And the accompanying butter wasn’t soft so it was hard to put the two together.
Now to the most BIZARRE salad bar EVER. Huge chunks of kale, the most challenging “lettuce” to chew while raw. And that’s it, no normal lettuce. Why not some Romano? Then there’s the coleslaw with WAY TOO MUCH MAYO? At an Italian restaurant? The ONE edible thing was the potato salad, but again, at an Italian restaurant? This salad bar needs a serious re-think.
Hubby got the chicken parmesan and it was SO DRY, NO SEASONING and caked on mozzarella, which was the only good part. But I can get a cheap slice of pizza if I want a slab of cooked mozzarella.
Not sure HOW this restaurant is getting decent reviews. It seems impossible to me! Literally the WORST Italian restaurant I’ve EVER experienced. And we had to pay a steep price for REALLY bad food. I’m sad because we work so hard for our money.
