Food was good, but waited 2 hrs for 3 dishes, one of which was a cold salad. Please don't accept people if your kitchen is backed up and not able to accommodate. Otherwise, hire more people to keep the line moving.

We had a very disappointing experience at Mae Sri. We were asked to pay upfront before even being seated, and then ended up waiting almost 2 hours for our food. If we hadn’t already paid, we would have left after 40 minutes. We checked in multiple times and each time were told “5 more minutes,” which turned into hours. I understand the restaurant was busy, but it would have been much better if they had just been honest about how long it would actually take.
To make matters worse, we noticed another group asking for a refund, but the staff mentioned their machine wouldn’t allow it. That discouraged us from even trying, so we just kept waiting.
Overall, not a good experience — the lack of transparency and extremely long wait made it frustrating and disappointing.

What I ordered vs. what I got! The food I received looked nothing like the original menu picture. The portion I received was much smaller than what’s shown on their menu and in Google reviews, with barely any protein or vegetables. The broth tasted okay but far too salty, and overall the food was quite mediocre and not fresh. On the positive side, the servers were super friendly, attentive, and provided great service.
I’ve noticed that many restaurants in Montreal use owner-posted photos to attract customers, so I wouldn’t trust the pictures or the reviews at face value.

Changing my review as the service quality is inconsistent despite the food being decent. Visited before a show yesterday, waited for a while after ordering, when the food is up they said the hainan chicken i ordered is out, it took them too long to inform me about it. I ordered green curry as they recommend changing into something with the same price, and chose rice instead of vermicelli. But when the dish came, it was with vermicelli. Also, different from last visit, the Thai milk tea is full of ice and got so diluted. Lastly, since they only accept payment ahead, we can’t really reflect this in tipping. Very disappointing service.

chicken rice: the flavours are on point but the rice is cooked unevenly and the portion of chicken is ridiculously small.
The best thai restaurant in Montreal! Im absolutely blown away by the flavour and thé authenticity of the dishes. I got the pad thai and dry noodles. Phenomenal. Highly recommend the thai green tea milk tea, refreshing! Nothing bad to say!

This is the best Thai food we have had in a long time. We had the spring rolls , Pad Thai and the Sukhothai (soup) . My soup was so tasty. There were so many levels of flavour. I was truly impressed. The place itself is really cute. Nice decor and atmosphere. Wish we lived close by because this would be my go to for Thai!

The food was so balanced and delicious. Perfect blend of sweet and savory. Menus were wore out and had to order at the counter, but the food was amazing. Stop here and try it, you won't be disappointed.

I freaking loved this place the food made me transcend
We’ve been to this place twice now, the fried chicken is absolutely great! We also tried the noodles and rice, but they’re not as special as the chicken. And don’t forget the Thai milk tea - it’s a refreshing treat. Overall, it was a great experience, and we’ll definitely be back!

I love noodles and I was so excited to see this place as they have all sorts of Thai noodles. I wanted to have all the noodles on menu but of course I couldn’t so let be realistic I ordered boat noodles as this dish is not easy to find in general. Turned out it didn’t let me down, good portion, hot and tasty. Even better when they provided some extra seasoning to add at your soup ( if you like it more spicy or sweeter ). The place has indoor and outdoor area. Staff are friendly, I will go there again to try other dishes. Forgot to mention I also ordered take away rice with pork belly basil and it was wonderful too.

Mae Sri Comptoir Thai nails the sweet spot between street‑food soul and restaurant polish. If you’re craving polished Thai fare with big flavors and friendly vibes, this place is a dependable go‑to in downtown Montréal.
Great food. Freshly prepared. Lots of vegetarian options. Friendly staff and convenient take out service.

The food was a bit disappointing. I was very excited to hear this place had boat noodles as I fell in love with in when I was in Thailand. However, the broth was not good. It was very thick and foggy - looked like the broth was made without removing the meat scum. You can see it in the photo.
We also had one of their dry noodles which had no flavour.
The pork ball was alright, a bit on the mushy side. The beef/ pork slices were good though. It had a nice texture and flavour to it.
I wouldn’t come back… it’s not worth the 20$ per bowl.

Might be the only place in the city that does boat noodles! Definitely a treat worth seeking out if you can as they're pretty rare to find on most thai restaurant menus in the city!
The noodles were overall great and made like how I remember in Bangkok down to the thai basil!
