Excellent dumplings, they taste home made and good price. Highly recommend for dumpling fans. We had the soup beef dumplings, the mushroom and cabbage and the dim sum shrimp ones. Cash only tho.
Place was dingy. Floors were dirty. The pork in our one of the dumpling orders was raw. Vibe is really not great. Go somewhere else
Cash only. Boiled and fried dumpling. Boiled are juicy.
Mai Xiang Yuan is an absolute gem that delivers an unforgettable culinary experience from start to finish. We began our meal with two refreshing cold starters: the Cucumber Salad and Wood Ear Mushroom Salad—both perfectly seasoned with just the right balance of garlic, vinegar, and sesame oil. Each bite was crisp, clean, and packed with flavour. But the star of the appetizer round was definitely #55: the Cilantro and Black Mushroom Salad. Earthy, aromatic, and beautifully balanced, it offered a unique texture and taste that elevated the entire dining experience
For the main event, we shared an order of fried pork and cabbage dumplings—crispy on the outside and juicy within, each dumpling bursting with well-seasoned filling that left us wanting more. The boiled lamb and spring onion dumplings were equally exceptional: tender, comforting, and infused with the subtle sweetness of spring onion that paired beautifully with the richness of the lamb.
Everything was made even better with a couple of cold Tsingtao beers to wash it all down. The pairing of the dumplings and Tsingtao was nothing short of perfect—light, refreshing, and incredibly satisfying.
Service was prompt, friendly, and welcoming. This is a spot where tradition meets quality, and every dish reflects the care and craft of true culinary artistry. We’ll be back—soon, and often.
I liked the entree 😁 (peanut butter and cucumber noodles). The soup dumplings were a little dry, there wasn’t any soup in them.
Fried dumplings arrived burnt. The waiter was extremely nice.
You can’t be in the area and not try these! I was in the area for the weekend and came here for lunch twice! From the perfect consistency of the bao, to the flavours of the broth and perfectly seasoned filling, it’s 10/10
Heads up, it’s a cash only but they do have an atm ($2.50 fee) should you forget to grab some cash.

Very delicious dumplings. I shared with my friends and we split the bill, and the price in total was quite fair or “cheaper than I expected.”
The staff was also very friendly. A staff we talked to was multilingual, speaking Chinese (Mandarin and Canton), Japanese, English and French it was mind blowing.

Dumplings were quite tasty. Cash only place. It was annoying when they asked for tips directly staring into my eyes and smiling, really really annoying…

We went twice, but we will definitely not return again, the service is terrible we always feel rushed, I said to myself maybe the waiter has a headache, but the food was good, but the second time still very unpleasant , immediately after having eaten the last butcher he asks you to go to the cash register for the bill, perhaps the waiter is racist one thing is certain it is unpleasant the worst an hour after eating my wife absolutely could not digest this meal and regurgitated everything.

To flee. Nothing good in this restaurant.
1. The cleanliness of the premises clearly leaves something to be desired.
2. The soup is flavorless. All the meatballs are BAD, fatty, too generous, impossible to recognize the meat in them. The dough is too thick, the filling is simply inedible.
3. The service is terrible. No credit card. They just want to take your money. flee.

After a long bus tour, we were alighted at the China town gates, the tour guide recommendedstopto go into China Town. As we entered, Mai Xiang dumplings caught our eye. The staff was welcoming, and we sat and ordered Hot and Sour Soup, pan friend lamb, and pork dumplings. The soup was very good and so were the dumplings. Service was excellent.

Do you want to eat Chinese Dumplings? I recommend this Mai Xiang Yuan restaurant. It has all kinds of boiled, fried and steamed dumplings. The sweet and sour soup is not the best but it is good to start your meal. The salad starters with cucumbers and seaweed are my favorite. I recommend the classic dish dumplings with minced pork and boiled batchoy, chicken dumplings with mushrooms, minced pork dumplings with fried chives and xiaolung bat minced pork and batchoy dumplings. Don't forget to add the restaurant's homemade vinaigrette and spicy sauce to your dumplings. You should go with a small group of 4 to 6 people so you can taste different dumpling dishes from the menu. I guarantee you will love your experience. The price is reasonable and it is the cheapest in town. Each piece of dumpling was well stuffed with a generous portion of meat and vegetables. You have to come and taste it and discover for yourself how good it is! Don't forget to bring cash as they don't accept credit cards. Thank you @MXY team for the good service. Come support this restaurant. With pleasure, Missy A.
