Heard amazing things about this place from friends, but our experience was rough. Service was super slow — took over 20 minutes just to have the waitress come see us for cocktails and then another 15 to receive them. I really don’t mind waiting - however the waitress did not apologize once. We were told we’d get a portion and a half since we were a group of eight, but that never happened, so we left still hungry. It also took about 20 minutes just for our waitress to split the bill at the end. Overall, really disappointed but the restaurant atmosphere is nice at least!

I’ll start off by saying I think the food was great, very fresh and the meat was cooked perfectly. However besides the taste of the food, I would say everything else was subpar. The service was extremely slow. It took us almost an hour from the time we were seated to get our drinks. We also had to ask to have our water glasses refilled multiple times. Then it was more than an hour between the two services. We were told that we would only be able to order once since they don’t let you order multiple times when it’s busy, so when I ordered for the table (group of 8) the waitress ensured it was enough for all of us. However when the food came, we literally each got 1 bite of each dish. They also did not have the size of fish we ordered in stock so they brought us a smaller one which was way too small for our group. Then when it came time to pay the bill we asked her to split it evenly between 6 of us (it was 2 friends birthday so we paid their part of the bill). However when the 6 bills came, they were all different prices. To make it easier I just said put it on one bill and we will split it ourselves. Then when she brings the bill back it is the longest bill I’ve ever seen. She said she could only fix the bill (to have each item listed only once) by cancelling the order and re-entering it so I said ok please do that so it’s easier for us to split after. She then says she doesn’t want to and won’t do that because it “messes up her stats”… very strange answer… honestly for the price I would not recommend

We enjoyed our lamb dishes, roasted beets and more but despite a minor setback. I guess we were expecting Greek authenticity when ordering Paprika Fries with 'Mizithra' cheese. Our friend having just come back from Greece called it. When we asked them they brought some jarred Parmesan??

Mamac is truly one of the best restaurants in Montreal. Everything is thoughtfully planned, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. They offer a wide range of options and great suggestions to help you choose. The steak was perfectly cooked, and you can even watch the team prepare the fish for you — no need to do it yourself! Make sure to try the octopus — it's tender and full of flavor — and their fresh, delicious salads. And whatever you do, don’t skip the desserts — they’re absolutely not to be missed! A top-tier dining experience from start to finish.

First off, I want to say 5 stars aren’t enough for the incredible hospitality and service Nikita provided for us tonight. From the very beginning, we were met with warmth, personality and professionalism. The wine was exquisite, the food was even better, and the ambience was undefeated. We are not from Montreal, but we will be visiting again specifically to dine at Mama C under Nikita’s exquisite care. Merci beaucout from Vancouver.

Came here for breakfast/brunch and it was very good. We got an iced latte and an inched match which were good, the potatoes and the pain au chocolat were delicious and the pancakes were fluffy but had an overwhelming taste of eggs. The service and atmosphere were great and the place was beautiful.

My night at Mama C made me question if I’ll ever return to Montreal. This restaurant gave me the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in my life, and I’ve never felt more discriminated against in a “nice” establishment. Which is surprising as I live in the Deep South of the United States.

I don’t want to belabor the point. If you want the most mediocre Greek food and childish cocktails while being disrespected by your server, come to this establishment.

From the outside the restaurant looks great and that’s what drew us in. Unfortunately, we didn’t take the time to look at other reviews for people who received bad service here.

We arrived at the restaurant shortly after 5pm and were the only people sitting in our section. From the first interaction, our server seemed irritated we were there. This gave me pause, but I’ve worked in service before so I gave her the benefit of the doubt.

While picking out our drinks we felt rushed, and because we were the only table we could see her giving us weird glances and making snide comments to other servers.

The food took quite awhile to come out. Which again was surprising given the fact there was no one else in the establishment when we arrived. The food was passable at best, but I’m glad we went ale-cart with a few items as opposed to 35oz of steak.

Oysters: fantastic
Beef tartare: 4/10
Classic moussaka: 5/10
Shrimp 'Giouvetsi Kritharato: 7/10 because the shrimp was well cooked

Antonis garden: 5/10
Wine selection: below average

Looked pretty and the umbrella coatcheck was a nice touch but Jesus Christ don’t come here. I’ve never made a comment to a manager prior to my night here. Enzo (the manager) came across as entirely insincere and like he just wanted us to shut up and leave. I’d mention the server by name, but she never introduced herself to us. She still got a good tip though because that’s what people like this like to hold over your head.

The food runners and hostess were nice.
