The manager was drunk and very loudly talking badly about other employees. The stew was too salty and difficult to finish.

Fish and chips are full of oil and no seasoning, tartar sauce is basically mayo. Irish stew was WAY too salty.
We sat near what sounded like the manager training some new hires and chatting on the phone with what sounded like an employee — wow, am I glad I do not work for her!
She complained about employees drinking but I only saw her with a cocktail and taking shots while loudly complaining about customers lol. Condescending, demeaning, rude.
Guinness not in Guinness glass :(

I had to edit this lower as we sat, the manager continued to get more drunk and complain loudly, it really would have ruined our night if the food didn’t already

The efficiency of service could’ve been better but it’s also an Irish pub. The fish and chips was good. Nice and greasy and way too big of a portion. Pricing (to me) beats everything else. I’d pay twice this in Seattle for the same thing.

This is the best of the Mckibbins Pubs, in Montreal. Food spot on, beer also and friendly attentive staff.

I like this place, good beer, good crowd. However, service recently is subpar for montreal. Staff tend to huddle in groups and are sloooow to pickup on waiting customers, tis a crying shame.

I got absolutely trashed on fireball with apple cider coolers earlier today and ended up in McKibbin’s.

I don’t speak French so I ordered the shepherd’s pie because it was easy to pronounce in my drunken stupor.

I wasn’t expecting to be served the best shepherd’s pie that I’ve ever eaten. It came with a side salad that was also incredible. But I could tell from the second that I laid eyes on that beautiful shepherd’s pie that it was something special and boy oh boy was it ever special.

I already know I will go back to my primarily English speaking province craving a shepherd’s pie that will bring me even a fraction of the joy that the one at McKibbins brought me.

I absolutely crushed that shepherd’s pie and would happily do it time and time again should the opportunity present itself.

Anywho, highly recommend the shepherd’s pie and the service was also incredible.
