nice food and good attention - family friendly place

I had dinner at McKiernan and it was a solid experience. Not mind-blowing, but definitely enjoyable. The ambiance was warm and inviting, chill but still nicely put together, the kind of place you can relax in.

We started with the Burrata à la Passata and the tomato sauce absolutely stole the show. It was insanely good, super rich and flavorful. The kravlax trout with deviled egg was an interesting combo, delicate and fresh, though not as memorable as the burrata.

The Schnitzel Holstein was satisfying and well-executed. Crispy, topped with a fried egg, and very comforting overall. Nothing revolutionary, but it hit the spot.

The real highlight for me was the cheesecake. Hands down one of the best I’ve ever had—super creamy, smooth, and just sweet enough without being heavy.

Overall, McKiernan served up a very good meal with some standout moments. I’d go back, especially for that tomato sauce and the cheesecake.

We had a group menu at 70$. I was still hungry after. Some dishes were excellent and others just ordinary. The brussels sprouts was the best dish. The bone marrow was the worst... It was served when we had already finished everything else. We had no side dish or anything to eat the bone marrow with and it was under cooked.

Waiters would clear the glasses and dishes without asking; often we still had food on the dishes or the drinks weren't finished. It took a long time before we got the food. Half the table had to leave because it was getting late. We arrived and were seated at 630pm and last plate didn't arrive before 9:45pm. The worst part is the 21% tip imposed in the bill. Given how late we were served, I would have probably dropped the tip to 15%

Nice atmosphere, very good brunch

This place is just the best. We held a surprise party there and the group was for 50 people. The communications with Stephanie beforehand were great. The food was amazing, the service was fantastic. Everybody had such an amazing time. There were many kids in our group and the restaurant is very kid friendly. There was even a foosball table and some of the kids were playing the entire night. Highly recommend and I always look forward to eating there again and again. Beautiful!

Went with a group of 10 and had a great time here. Family style with a fixed menu. Lots of tasty food and variety. Never seen bone marrow bones so big. We had excellent attentive service as well. A great night out.

I love McKiernan. It's such a vibe, and their pasta is incredible. Their spicy rigatoni is always a go-to but their butternut squash pasta was out of this world.

Their classic rolls and the burrata are also amazing.

The only negative was that the service was slow, but the restaurant was jammed. We also loved the energy of the support staff who brought the foods and drinks.

Great experience for large groups.
We found all the food amazing. We were able to share all of our food and we still had lots of leftovers which they ended up packing.
Will recommend and come back 100%

Lovely. Warm. Attentive. And that just describes our waitress!!! Excellent place with unmatched vibes and insanely tasty food (the brussel sprouts!!). But special shout-out to Vanessa, who was just so kind and welcoming!!! Best service ever!!!

Apart from their (group) reservation system which needs to be reviewed in my opinion, I recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a great evening. The food is impeccable, the service is even better. Very affordable prices and great selection of drinks.
Our group of 12 was very well received by Angélane and François. Free and easy parking. Seriously…10/10!

Best meal I've had in Montreal, absolutely spectacular.

They accommodated our group of ten guys with a family-style meal, including dietary restrictions. Wait staff was extremely attentive and knowledgeable, and everything from the veggies to the meat and deserts were excellent.

We visited McKiernan based on the recommendation of a friend. How had we missed coming here? Parking presented the first challenge but there must be a trick to it. The building hosts a range of businesses and everyone arrives by car so it's chaotic. The entrance to McKiernan is on the St. Patrick side and is clearly signed. Once inside there is a gloomy staircase to climb until at last the bright open space is reached and you have arrived at McKiernan. We hadn't booked but we were found a table. Service is friendly and efficient. We chose from the menu ordering the seafood dish and the prime rib sandwich with fries. The food was excellent although we found the portions to be on the small side. Anyway, to compensate we had a donuut and lemon meringue for dessert. Overall we really enjoyed it and we will back but we will book and be prepared for the parking, and probably order more dishes.

Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating to families. Ideal for family occasions.
