My husband and I had an exceptional experience at McKiernan! As always, the food was fantastic (we always go back), but what made the evening truly special was the outstanding service from Stephanie and Chloe. They went above and beyond. When there was a slight delay in taking our order, they offered us drinks on the house and were incredibly kind and attentive, making our date night extra special. Thank you, Stephanie and Chloe, for the wonderful experience!

If you haven’t tried their brunch, RUN don’t walk. It was my first time trying it and they did not disappoint! Servers are sooo friendly and fast. We tried the croque madame and the schnitzel sandwich + extra hashbrowns. Everything was sooo delicious! Just perfect portions and very tasty. We also got lattes, they were great! To top it off we ordered 2 donuts: dulce de leche and maple! Exquisite. Will definitely come back to try other items, the place has big windows that light the whole restaurant. The vibes are super nice.

Very cute spot with ample parking. Prices are a little bit high for the portion size but most items are tasty and well prepared.

The atmosphere was nice, but unfortunately the food and service fell short of expectations. The portions were small for the price, and the quality wasn’t great. The meat was undercooked and lacked seasoning, and even basic bread wasn’t provided complimentary. Overall, not a good value for the cost.

I visited McKiernan and was very disappointed with the experience. The appetizers and food were extremely salty. The ribs were served raw/medium rare without asking us how we wanted them cooked. When we requested a change, the waitress said it was not possible. The service felt unprofessional, and the overall food quality did not match the high scores and reviews I saw online. Definitely not what I expected.

We had an excellent experience with Tiffany yesterday. She and the staff anticipated our needs which helped keep the kids at bay and she did this so effortlessly and kindly. Great food options that are diverse, delicious and affordable along with fantastic drinks. We were lucky enough to try their passionfruit cheesecake special. Don't skimp on the donuts either :)

Perks for kids: friendly staff, crayons and coloring pages, easy parking and pretty speedy service

We came here for lunch on a Thursday, and the food, service, and ambience did not disappoint. The place is beautifully decorated, with large glass windows overlooking the canal and a high ceiling that creates a spacious and inviting atmosphere. The servers were attentive, especially Dimitri, who took the time to explain the menu and checked in on us throughout the meal.

The highlight of the experience was definitely the food. Perhaps because we arrived right when they opened, the Rotisserie Chicken was incredibly tender and juicy, complemented perfectly by the creamy sauce. At first glance, the Country Salad looked quite plain, but it turned out to be very well-seasoned—balanced just right to enhance the freshness of the vegetables without overpowering them.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we can definitely see ourselves coming back again—especially to try the donuts next time! A true hidden gem in Montreal.

I’ve been here several times for dinner and absolutely loved it. That said, I tried brunch this weekend and wasn’t blown away by the menu options. Everything was good, not great. The service and vibes were immaculate as always. Would still recommend.

I really love this spot for dinner. It's got this great, bustling energy without being too loud, making it perfect for a date night. You should definitely try to make a reservation ahead of time if you can.

At first glance, the menu can look a little all over the place, but once the food starts coming out it all makes sense. The roasted chicken is absolutely fantastic, chicken is cooked perfectly and the sauce is so good. The pasta dishes are also a great option with good portion sizes.

For sides, do yourself a favor and get the deviled brussel sprouts. They are seriously delicious and awesome for sharing. You might want to skip the fries, though. They can be a little hit or miss, sometimes coming out a bit overcooked and dry.

A quick tip for dessert: if you're eyeing the donuts, ask your server to set some aside when you first order your meal. They sell out super fast!

A Few Thoughts on Brunch:
I'm probably in the minority here, but the famous brunch double down just isn't for me. I don't get the hype. The hash browns feel both dry and oily at the same time, almost like they were pre-made and then just flash-fried to order. It's not a dealbreaker, but I'd recommend trying something else instead.
As for the service, it was only a mixed bag the last time I went. The hosts at the front were incredible—super helpful and welcoming. But our waitress seemed a little checked out. We all have off days, but it was weird to see her totally happy and chill with other tables but just meh/cold with us. She did perk up when I went to pay with cash, which I found kind of strange.

Overall, I'd still highly recommend this place for a great dinner out.

Nice restaurant with very good food, quite busy ecen on a Tuesday night. The place is known for rotisserie so we tried the roasted chicken and it did not disappoint! Everything is tasty and service is great. We were lucky to have a reservation at sunset and so the view was amazing.

We had an absolutely lovely time here. The server was also hilarious. Food was incredible, atmosphere was fun, and the server was sweet (and handsome) and also realllllllly good at taking photos, as you can see here.

Many people in the restaurant, while the food is terrible.

We ordered sprouts,(18$),too much oil!!!! After complaint, they cancel this one from our bill. Also the linguine scampi(30$), too much oil I think. And the shrimp is tiny, I think it doesn’t worth the price.

The fries is hard. Anyway, it is overrated and I am disappointed with this restaurant.

Overall, oily is all the impression I have now. If you like the oily food, this could be your choice.

But the service and atmosphere are good.
