I am really happy to visit here! I can’t find easily a simple “chocolate scone” at cafes, and it was excellent. Beautiful golden colour, the edge is crisp, and buttery and flaky inside….LOVE IT! I had flat white. It’s also good. I was impressed the scone more than flat white. I want to try other scone next time! I felt the cafe is loved by neighborhood. People are smiling, and good vibes! There is getting beautiful sunlight.

Really love the mollo bread! Absolutely amazing. Other treats can be dry. Unfortunately when I go it seems staff are distracted and my order is wrong in some way 1/2 the time, but when it's right it's amazing!!

Review on Sep. 27,2024: if we would want to talk about deteriorating of a business because of bad customer service, then I have the best example for you. After a run this morning, I thought about getting new coffee beans and the really good scones they have here. Sweaty and tired I got there to find employees kind of not too enthusiastic to greet me or maybe anyone. There was just a feeling of slow to move, engage, say hi …! Put myself in front of the counter which brought one who seemed to be in a better mood with a smile, and asked about the flavour of their scones. She explained patiently, and I got each of the kinds. (Worth mentioning the scones are sometimes amazing and moist and perfectly baked and other times including today, over cooked and browned). Then I asked the other barista for a certain coffee of single origin etc etc as a home barista I am, learning, amateur, but not know somewhat, let’s say an espresso enthusiast. He didn’t seem to be too much in the mood to engage. But he did help me, patiently explained ans helped me choose the two ones I ended up getting; maybe remembered that last time I had made a purchase, when he still had his cute beard, I had made a mistake with the ATM and had not given him any tip, again, by mistake, which was another reason I absolutely wanted to go back and pay my retribution with an OK tip. So him being patient but also reluctant for whatever reason that is not my business, I purchased what I needed and tipped them 20%. Alex, the owner of the shop was there and collecting his money from the cash. Last time, the barista had offered a free espresso shot saying that it came with coffee beans purchase. This is a very common practice at any coffee shop selling beans. You can try for yourself, has to be a place selling coffee beans and with an espresso machine obviously. He looks at me and then asks Alex, who says no that is not included. I tell them the last time you offered and I didn’t take (because I don’t drink coffee after 12 pm) and now I thought to try the beans you use to make espresso, because I actually also asked the barista previously about which coffee beans they used for their own espresso at the shop, to go later and buy it, as my hands were full with two coffee beans packs, a pack of scones, and two pack of gums they have in the front. They were like oh no no no, different places different policies. Well this is just an example of cheap minded business owner and business model that left me with a very bitter taste in the mouth. With that attitude I wouldn’t be surprised if they actually relabel the roast date from an older date to sell their old not-purchased coffee beans as newly roasted. Might not be the case but it makes one like me seriously wonder. 64 dollars worth of purchase + 13 dollars tip and not wanting to give away one shot of espresso? That is cheap and rude! I have attached the receipt for your reference.
Old review: You know sometimes it’s worth ignoring your fatigue after work on a sunny and beautiful evening like this to wander around your own neighbourhood. Such moments make you never want to work and explore and explore more, and eat and eat and try more new things in new places especially the ones right within your door steps. I was on holidays from beginning of May and they said they just opened up around three months ago! It makes perfect sense and why I had not discovered it before. Little cozy, friendly and beautiful café in Pointe Saint Charles. I think we won’t have to always go to Café Bloom anymore, even though we will keep going back to both places. I ordered a cone with a scoop of gelato and another scoop of sorbet: Matcha and white chocolate gelato and green apple sorbet. I recommend you get these two as for your first try. IT WAS SIMPLY DELICIOUS! And homemade!!! You might think: is matcha a new species of chocolate tree? Thank you!
