My friend and I went for dinner and we ordered the general tao chicken, small portion of rice, and the beef in black bean sauce and rice noodles. The food was really good and the portions were big, worth the price. The general Tao sauce was delicious. Beef well cooked. We stuffed ourselves, the food could have easily made nice sized meals for 3 people.

This is a very very nice chinese restaurant. The food taste really really good, the right amount of everything. The only part i didn't like, i place the order in 1 but it came in 3, 5-10 minutes apart. The atmosphere was good overall. I do recommend and i would absolutely go back.

Love this place. Been here twice ..first time got the sesame beef with chicken fried rice; delicious. Second time went with my bf and we had peanut butter pork dumplings and the spicy honey beef which were good, and we got the short beef ribs which we didn’t like bc of the lack of meat it had too much fat.

This is probably one of the worst Chinese food experiences I’ve ever had. The service is lousy and the food isn’t much better. The server was super pushy and wanted us to order everything at once - but they bring the food out one or two things at a time over the course of 45 minutes - for a table of 6 people. The server never checks in to see how things are going and has to be flagged down. Some main courses came out prior to all of the appetizers coming out. The rice dishes were cold long before my beef with Chinese broccoli was finally cancelled because it never came. The servers are constantly trying to take dishes away too before you’re even done with them. I would absolutely not recommend anyone ever dine here. The tablecloths have tears and holes in them. They take unused plates and bowls from the table that guests have touched and just place them back in the stack of clean dishes in the middle of the restaurant. It was not even a little busy in the restaurant for the holiday. They had plenty of staff. Such a disappointing NYE experience at 5:15pm. The only good thing was that they seated us before our 6pm reservation.

You must order Shanghai noodles. They are so delicious that I actually have food cravings for them. The portion is enough for two people so you can either share or take home for a lunch next day. Very friendly staff, and did I mention the Shanghai noodles?

URGENT CONSUMER ALERT: Suspected Tip Calculation Fraud at Mon Nan (Quebec)
I am writing this review to warn all current and future patrons of Mon Nan about a serious, systemic issue regarding how they handle gratuities on their payment terminals. Please see photo proof

On a recent visit, the Visa/Interac payment terminal presented suggested tip percentages (15%, 18%, etc.) that were calculated based on the post-tax total amount, a practice that is illegal under Quebec consumer protection legislation (Bill 72).

The Law: In Quebec, tips must legally be calculated on the pre-tax subtotal only.

My Experience & Proof: For my specific transaction, where the total bill was approximately $120.49, the suggested 15% tip amount shown by the machine was significantly higher than the legal pre-tax 15% tip, which should be roughly $15.72 This is definitive proof of an attempt to defraud the customer through systematic over-calculation.

When I complained and pointed out the discrepancy, management stated they were aware of the illegal calculation but attempted to blame the terminal owner, which I consider to be a blatant fabrication to evade responsibility for cheating customers.

Action Taken: I have filed a formal complaint regarding this matter with the Office de la protection du consommateur (OPC) in Quebec.

Food was on point and reminded of Sammy's from NYC. Food was fresh and hot. I got more than expected for what I paid. Service was really nice. When I got there, the kitchen was about to close but they were mad cool and still prepared my deal. Got a glass of water for even waiting. Will definitely come here again.

Classic spot for classic Chinese food we North Americans know and love. No frills, just great food and service in the heart of Chinatown.
