This is one of my favourite places to go when I want to wind down from my work and also see a comedy show! It's really close, near the Guy-Concordia station in a cozy spot on Rue Mackay. All of the bartenders are great and they all know you by name, which makes it really personal They also have a really great comedy night on Tuesdays that features a variety of local Montreal comedians and occasional famous person.
What I love is that they take risks with experimenting with different types of cocktails each week, often offering them as specials. They have this new cocktail called 'noire et epice' which is a type of pumpkin spice espresso martini that I HIGHLY recommend.

I went to Nsur Mackay for a comedy night. The show itself was solid the comedians were funny. But that’s where the positives end. I ordered a mocktail (yep, no alcohol) and it tasted….........fine? Mediocre at best! It tasted like something you’d get at a chain restaurant for five bucks.
Then the bartender hits me with the bill of $15. For ONE glorified juice? What did they put in there, gold flakes and broken dreams? I could get a decent alcoholic cocktail anywhere else in the city for that price.
This place clearly has no problem ripping people off. If you want to be wildly overcharged for a drink that tastes like it came out of a grocery store carton, this is the spot for you.

I met up with a friend at NsurMackay for a couple of beers, and it was my first time visiting, so I had no expectations going in. We arrived close to suppertime, and the place was quiet, which made for a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The space itself is quite inviting — the decor is a tasteful mix of modern and classic touches, with warm lighting and comfortable seating that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy a conversation.
The bartender was friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive, which added to the relaxed vibe. The beers were cold and refreshing, exactly what I was hoping for after a long day. It’s the kind of place that feels low-pressure, where you can unwind, catch up with friends, and enjoy a few drinks without feeling rushed.
Overall, NsurMackay made a very good first impression. The combination of the inviting decor, attentive service, and quality drinks makes it a spot I’d happily return to. It’s ideal for casual meetups or just a quiet evening out to enjoy a couple of cold beers and good company.

This bar didn’t just serve us drinks. It served us purpose. We came in thirsty and left spiritually awakened.
Best bar in Montreal, hands down. And trust me, we’ve done the research. Jesse had already clocked out, but still dove into the depths of the back room to find a bottle of Japanese whiskey my husband ordered. Man was off the clock and still giving 110%. Legend status unlocked.
And let’s not forget Shane -funny, welcoming, and clearly running on vibes and pure charisma. Between him and Jesse, this place is basically the Avengers of bartending.
The atmosphere? Immaculate. But the real MVPs are the staff. Friendly, hilarious, and somehow all have the vibe of your funniest friend who also makes great cocktails. They’re the heartbeat of this place. I’d protect them with my life.
If you’re in Montreal and don’t come here.. rethink your life choices. This bar will change your life. You’ll leave buzzed, blessed, and maybe a little in love (probably with Jesse… or Shane).
