Just WOW! This place needs way more recognition. The best way is take a omakase and make it vegan. The chef and bartender were both very knowledgeable in their ingredients and flavors. We took both the tasting menu and the drink pairings and we'll definitely be back. Seems very small from the outside but the ambiance is very cozy and I would say perfect for a date.
More people needs to discover this place :)

Ps; their À la carte menu is ok, but I think getting the full tasting menu is really something that's worth doing!

This place was a huge disappointment highly overpriced and pretentious tasting menu and the a la carte menu was not available. (Not to mention not possible to order for a partial table if others wanted the tasting menu) the food was not bad but not worth the money and the portions were very small. The service was very slow as there was only one person doing everything and explaining each dish and the process in great detail.
Honestly we were lucky there was only one other table or the 3 hours would have been much longer. There was no warning that it would take so long nor that we would have so little choice but to spend on the tasting menu. Not recommended unless you are a serious vegan who wants to spend crazy money on pretentious veg that don’t satisfy hunger.

Run don’t walk!

We had the set menu at Café Natsu by chef Brodie Somerville, and it was absolutely outstanding. Every dish felt like a work of art — the presentation was stunning, and the balance of flavors was incredible. It’s rare to find vegan cuisine elevated to this level, where each plate surprises you with creativity while still feeling comforting and satisfying.

The set menu flowed beautifully from start to finish, with each course complementing the next. You can clearly taste the thought and passion that went into every detail. Chef Somerville has created something truly special here — a place where food, artistry, and hospitality come together seamlessly.

Highly recommend Café Natsu to anyone, vegan or not. This is a dining experience you won’t forget!

TLDR; cozy spot in suburban Montreal with a tasty, vegan, seasonal menu, welcoming staff, and a calm but intimate atmosphere.

It was a dark and stormy night. My father, sister, and I were in Montreal for a week-long vacation. Natsu was one of the few places we had a reservation for, and it was well worth it! The food was adventurous yet very delicious, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, with the chef even helping explain each of the dishes in the tasting menu (our favorites were the fake oysters made with oyster mushrooms, and the panna cotta with citrus coulis).

We were nervous coming in that the food would be too adventurous for my 6 year-old sister, but our waitress was incredibly helpful with getting us some pasta (which was very good despite not being on the menu), as well as a hibiscus drink.

It was clear that the whole establishment was well maintained, the restroom was spotless and stocked with hand towels, and the tables and chairs were clean. One key feature that really makes this restaurant stand out is that they buy their produce locally, meaning the menu is almost never the same from week to week. Overall, this was one of the best places we have been in Montreal, and we will definitely be coming back!

The ambiance is nice. The problem was the food. It was plain, missing seasoning such as salt.. and the plates were bare minimum. You know when you expect something from your boyfriend such as flowers but you know your gonna have to do the dishes instead.. well same comparaison of disappointment. TikTok videos sponsoring it but does not match at all, they must’ve been paid to say good things.

Food felt pretentious and lacked effort on some dishes. Some of the taste was bland. Overall, too expensive for what we received, would not recommend.

My friends invited me out on a whim last night and boy howdy am I EVER glad I went. We got the tasting menu and this place was *chef's kiss*. From the first moment I walked in (I got there after my friends since it was a very last minute decision) I was treated like a close friend by the waitress and then the owner/chef. The service was impeccable. The waitress (who is the owner's partner) clearly loves the food and drinks and was super knowledgeable about what went with what. After chatting with us a little bit, she understood our flavour palettes and could offer drinks we would like as well as could make little tweaks to drinks we think we'll like but might have been say a little too sour or alcohol forward. 😉The owner/chef was amazing. He came out with every course and explained things beautifully and it was super clear that he LOVES making delicious farm-to-table vegan cuisine.

But all this pales in comparison to the food itself. Every single course was outstanding. From a bright tomato water start to fresh tomatoes with a homemade light vinaigrette to homemade pasta with a garlic sauce to a mushroom and cashew fois gras to the most delicate creme brule (not in that exact order) this meal got better and better with every bite! Everything is sourced from Quebec farms and you'll probably never have the same meal twice. They have a friendship/partnership with the farmers they buy from so they get what's in season. And they're already prepping veggies for the winter!! Can't wait for the pickled and fermented foods that we will be served. 10/10 will ABSOLUTELY go back and am truly looking forward to it!

This was absolutely the best dining experience I’ve had in ages! From the second we walked in the door we felt welcome and taken care of. The server was phenomenal - very friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the menu and full of great suggestions. We had the tasting menu and have seriously not tasted better food in all of Montreal. Everything was fresh, delicious, and presented in a perfect way with detailed explanations. The chef is a genius who is clearly passionate about what he creates because every detail of the food was intentional. The music was fun & the vibe was great. The cocktails were amazing - perfectly balanced and unique. The overall experience was deeply satisfying and exceeded our expectations. We spent the whole walk home debating what our favourite dish/drink was but we loved them all! Whether you’re vegan or not, I highly recommend this incredible restaurant. 😃

Amazing experience with the tasting menu tonight, must try vegan restaurant in Montreal, they only use local ingredients and the food was delicious. There were so many courses, you definitely will get full and they also have 10$ cocktails on Wednesdays. Amazing service, they were really attentive to when we finished our courses and the chef also came himself to explain every dish to us. A great deal! Highly recommend and we will be back.

Cute vegan restaurant run by a lovely couple. We tried the tasting menu and it had wonderful variety and delicious flavors. The cocktails were amazing too. Some of the food was a bit too salty, and I wish they had asked beforehand about ingredients we were sensitive too, but there was many courses and we still ate more than we could!
