NDG Luncheonette, despite only being open for three years, feels like an institution in the NDG community. It’s a classic diner spot with delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere. In my opinion, it’s the best brunch spot in Montreal. The seasonally topped pancakes are a must-try, but the classic JJ plate and breakfast sandwich are also delicious. It’s definitely the kind of place you’d want to visit every Sunday! My boyfriend rates it above a 10/10!

Food: Not good, uncooked sausage, unseasoned
Service: Unaccommodating, could not make any specific requests or adjustments to the food
Atmosphere: outside seating very uneven. They only take cash, you have to use their ATM. No debit or credit machine.

I really want to like this place, and in some way do. I like the dinner style, I feel like it's something lacking in Montreal. The price are fair and the portions can be good (depending on what you get).

The hard part in this review for me is the service. The cooks work so hard, and I truly appreciate that. Sometimes the wait can feel overwhelming. I've been here 4 times and the wait on 3 of the occasions were near an hour. And before you assume it was busy, it wasn't that busy. The waiters can just be slow.

Now, speaking of waiters, this is what made or break the experience for me. We had one lady serve us, she was the best. While on the other occasions, it felt like we were purposely being ignored and spoken with impatience.

I kind of recommend this place, but don't expect too much. I kinda like it, but the people I went with didn't.

The house smoked lox was excellent. It is served on a bagel and has large slices of tomato on each side which makes it a bit difficult to eat. I removed the tomato to make it easier to eat. Reasonable prices. Service is very slow
