Seafood dishes were excellent. Vegetable sides were a little pedestrian in comparison. Bring your wine.
Invited to a surprise 80th birthday party. All was wonderful, about 35 guests and quite a few children. It was so cozy and the menu of
of course had so many choices to choose from. Entree, soup, fish, veal, shrimp, dessert -all just delicious. The kids were treated to pasta BYOB, and everything was all taken care of by the gracious hostess. Service was outstanding The owner, chef came out to talk to each table of guests and I certainly clapped when he came to my table. He has such pride in his Oregano and justifiably.
We enjoyed a delicious Greek meal. We started out with some crispy thin lightly breaded eggplant, shared a Greek salad, and a grilled and deboned fish which was all very good. The decor is simple and comfortable.

Last Friday, we had a holiday staff dinner at this restaurant, which was my first experience there. I was the first to arrive, and the waitress was nice and welcoming. The rest of the school staff began to arrive shortly after.
The menu had already been chosen by the staff. We started with calamari for everyone at the table, along with a choice of salad or soup (either lentil or squash). The main dishes consisted of steak, chicken, and salmon, with coffee provided but no desserts included. Each person was required to pay $40, and any additional orders would be added to our bills. It’s also a bring-your-own-wine establishment.
The calamari were okay; there was only one small slice of lemon for the entire plate, and not all of the calamari came with the side sauce. I chose the squash soup, which was fine, but I missed taking a photo of my salmon. The salmon dish was decent, and the sautéed veggies were the best part. However, the rice was tasteless; I ended up adding the calamari sauce to make it more enjoyable. I also ordered lemon pie, which was okay but not extraordinary. The coffee was more water-flavored than anything else.
Overall, the staff were nice, and the chef even came out to ask if everything was okay, which was a thoughtful gesture.
When it came time to pay the bill, I noticed options for tipping: percentages, custom, and skip. I chose to customize my tip because I wasn’t completely satisfied with the food. However, the waitress stopped me with an attitude and asked me to pay more.
The tipping situation in Montreal can be quite challenging. While tipping is not obligatory, it often feels expected. If you choose to skip or customize the tip for any reason, it’s not acceptable for staff to confront you about it with an attitude.
In any case, I wanted to be honest and transparent about my experience. I believe the restaurant likely offers better options, but due to the restrictions on our menu choices, that was my feedback.

I recently dined at Oregano's Grill Restaurant and had a delightful experience. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed evening out.For my main course, I ordered the sea bass, and it was exceptional. The fish was cooked to perfection – tender, flaky, and bursting with flavor. The seasoning was spot-on, complementing the natural taste of the sea bass without overpowering it. The accompanying vegetables were fresh and well-prepared, making for a balanced and satisfying meal.
Very good and delicious food

We went as a group of 8 for my mom’s birthday. The main courses were very good, and everyone loved the butternut squash soup for a starter. They accommodated a child at our table with a special request. The service was very nice. Prices on the high side, but it’s it’s BYOW which helps offset the total cost. We’ll definitely be back!

Atmosphere is super old school. There was a lot of oregano in they’re house salad. Main course was the chicken brochette and there’s absolutely no seasoning on the chicken. This plate was $35. I expected a bit of a higher standard for this price mark. The wait staff is nice and are juggling a lot, so thumbs up to them.
