few places can boast being the best AND most authentic Japanese restaurant in the city. Kitano has earned that right. Whether its a regular night or special pop-up event, Kitano Shokudo is a plateau staple, with character and originality that is so often lost in an oversaturated market. The chef shares these gifts with his guests with the calm and confidence that translates in every bite. Savour these moments. it is a rarity and a privilege.
Tremendous quality fish, classic presentation, just really, really good. And the must-get mapo tofu was unreal delicious. (Side note: my wife was disappointed that a scallop dish she'd seen online wasn't on the specials list that night; they made it for her anyway!)
Absolutely worth the trip. Fabulous food, great service and nice vibe with the music. At a volume that makes it possible to hold a conversation.
