Matthew went above and beyond in a way I’ve honestly never experienced before. He took the time to sit down with us, walk through the menu in detail, answer all our questions, and guide us through the experience with genuine care. His attention to every little detail made us feel completely taken care of from start to finish.
It’s rare to come across service that feels this personal and passionate. Matthew made the entire evening feel special and memorable, and we left completely in awe!!

I took my friend to celebrate her birthday last night and this was the best bestie catch-up location. The food is as good as all the hype but more than anything else we had excellent service from Matthew. My friend has lots of allergies and Matthew was so patient and generous handling her needs. A rare gem in Montreal food service.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was my second visit to Phillips Bar, and once again, I was absolutely blown away! Every dish was incredible. Special shout-outs to the slip cod and the perfectly cooked steak, as well as the chicken skin with truffle sauce appetizer — you can really tell the chef is a master of his craft. The way flavors and textures are combined makes every bite a memorable culinary experience. I came with a friend who was trying certain dishes for the first time — it was a bit out of his comfort zone, but he loved nearly everything! We are already looking forward to our next visit. Huge thanks to the entire team for creating such an exceptional evening. Truly a dining experience not to be missed!

My friends and I were invited to Phillips Bar and left genuinely impressed. It’s a Japanese-fusion tapas spot that treats every plate like a little journey - high-quality ingredients, beautiful pairings, and so much attention to detail.
The space is gorgeous, the ambiance relaxed, and the staff are warm, helpful, and truly knowledgeable. Cocktails are next-level (the wasabi twist was brilliant), and the menu is refreshingly original for what you’d expect from a “bar with sushi.”
Think easy-to-share, elevated bites with real personality - like the dried salmon skin and dried chicken skin with fresh dips - smart, creative, and incredibly flavorful. Honestly, about 95–97% of what we tried was outstanding; only one or two plates felt just “good,” which is rare when you order a lot.
Overall: elegant, elevated, and very creative. I can absolutely see myself coming back regularly.
Huge thanks to the team for having us , highly recommend to everyone looking for something different and delicious.

Could not be more impressed! Visiting the city with a friend and enjoyed every moment of our experience sitting at the bar. The bartender (Kylie?) was top notch, making suggestions and offering samples. The whole staff seemed like best friends. I wish we were hungrier, but the salad we shared was exceptional. 10/10 recommend!

A memorable time was had at this relatively new place. The handsome room ( located in an old bank) was inviting with its warm lighting and interesting vantage points. Each of the recommended dishes was flavourful and filling. Good cocktails to boot! Our server, Matthew and his colleague Étienne had personality +++ We’ll be back!

Everything was super fresh, portions were perfect, and the service was fast + super friendly. The cocktails were not only so cute but actually amazing too 😋🍸
