Very bland pho and rice noodle bowl and not much food for serving size. Would not recommend

Been coming here for while but last visit was my last. Restaurant was quiet and near closing time. I wanted to sit away from the cash but the host manager insisted to have me sit next to the cash. I simply walked away and wont be returning.
Please be aware that this place only accepts cash and often does not print out an official and legal receipt from the cash. I should not have to ask for my official receipt with the legal tax number of the establishment.
I will be contacting the appropriate agency's to report this establishment.
PLEASE DEMAND YOUR OFFICIAL RECEIPT WHEN PAYING.

The service was quick. The Pho was delicious and very filling. The chicken was good too.
The rolls were hot too and not cold. The only inconvenience is that they don’t take card. Besides that, I would recommend this place.

Terrible experience in Montreal.

We went as a group of four to have pho, but the table we were assigned to was filthy and hadn’t been cleaned. Other tables were offered tea and water, but we were only given three cups of water. When we asked for tea, the waiter said nothing, kept a blank expression, and walked away—only to bring the tea later without a word.

We ordered three bowls of pho, one bún chả, and spring rolls. The food was not especially flavorful—just cheap for the price.

The waiter didn’t provide any basic service beyond dropping off the food. No water refills, no follow-up to ask if the food was okay—nothing. They didn’t accept cards and told us to withdraw cash from the ATM located in the restaurant. After we paid in cash and received change, the staff aggressively demanded a large tip. Even though we tipped, they shouted at us that it wasn’t enough and followed us outside.

What’s worse, we noticed that when a white customer paid before us, he kept all the change and was not yelled at for not tipping. Judging from other reviews, this kind of behavior seems to be more aggressive toward Asian customers.

We don’t understand why such poor service would deserve a tip at all. The food was mediocre, and the overall experience was extremely unpleasant.

Would not recommend.

I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at this restaurant.

I came with a friend (party of two) and we were clearly next in line. However, we were skipped multiple times in favor of larger parties who came after us.

A table for four became available—it was made up of two small tables. Instead of offering it to us, the staff gave it to a group of four behind us. Later, another four-person table opened up. They ignored us again and asked if any group of four was available. A group of six behind us said they could split up, and the staff gave the table to them. Then a two-person table opened up and—unbelievably—it was again given to the remaining two people from that same group.

When we were finally seated, we still weren’t treated equally. The server offered tea and water to several tables who were seated after us, but completely ignored our table.

To make matters worse, I was pressured to leave a large tip after receiving this clearly discriminatory service. And yes—I paid it, but I left the restaurant feeling humiliated, angry, and deeply unwelcome.

Based on the way we were consistently overlooked and ignored, I strongly believe this was racial discrimination. I stayed calm and respectful throughout, but we were treated as if we were invisible.

I will never return, and I do not recommend this place to anyone who values fairness and dignity.

Taste is always stable with fair price

the food is very very authentic Vietnamese food. Just about the tips, once we pay cash, also the fee includes tips, the waiter keeps asking me for tips again. ……

I visited Pho Bang New York a few times now, and it’s become my go-to for a cozy, satisfying pho fix. The portion sizes are generous—and the broth? Always rich, aromatic, and deeply comforting. The clear beef broth perfectly complements the silky noodles and tender slices of beef that cook right in your bowl

P.S.: It’s cash-only, so bring some notes (or hit the in-restaurant ATM)

If you’re craving a classic, soul-warming pho in Montreal, Pho Bang New York delivers every time—warm broth, generous portions, and honest prices.

If you don't have cash, you can not pay they only receive cash if you show credit card. They are rude at you. You also give a lot of tips if you do not give a tip. You can not go. one of the staff follows you until you give a tips they want. Better go another noodle restaurant

This morning I went to this restaurant to eat pho but the experience was really bad. First of all I ordered 2 small pho bowls but they brought me a small and a large instead. The waiter said they had made a mistake, so they would charge me the price of the small bowl for the large bowl, as a result for their inconvenience. However, they didn’t, and instead charged me a small and a large bowl, even though that was not what I originally ordered. They tried to up-sell me. I didn’t want to be difficult for that waiter and I also didn't want to complain because I still intended to pay the correct price of what I had originally ordered. But the food was so bad. I couldn’t even finish it because of how bland and tasteless in was. I felt like they intentionally wanted to sell it at a higher price to force me to pay a lot of money.

If you want to find a Vietnamese pho restaurant to eat, you should not come here.

Walked in, held up fingers for how many in our party, and we were seated right away. Tables are two-tops pushed together depending on group size—efficient, no-nonsense setup.

The beef in the pho was excellent—tender, well-cooked—but the broth was forgettable. Not bad, just didn’t stand out. My son’s chicken and rice plate was clean and filling, but so neutral it could’ve come from half a dozen different places. No standout seasoning, no distinct flavor.

Cash only, but they did take U.S. dollars and even gave a small discount—so that was a pleasant surprise.

Fast service, decent prices, no big complaints—but nothing special either. If you’re nearby and hungry, it’ll do. But if you’re chasing top-tier pho in Montréal, this isn’t the destination.
