I can’t emphasize enough on how good the food is. It food came out hot, tasted amazing! We got tons of suggestions from Savanna, and she was sweet enough to explain the flavor profiles to us as well :)
Absolutely loved the pad Thai, the fish balls in green curry, sticky mango and their AMAZING icecream.
Cynical at first. But Ive been converted. Absolutely delicious. Decoration is perfect. Service is effortless and relaxed but efficient. Food is amazing. Prices are great. Nothing but good things to say about Pumpui
I had a good feeling about this place as soon as I walked in, and boy did the flavors not disappoint. This is THE place to get Thai food in Montreal. Generous portions and amazing taste. This will make it into the Montreal repeats for sure.
Be sure to come on the early side as there’s not a ton of seating and it fills up quick but it’s so so worth it. More tables are out back in the summer.
Get very crowded. But its worth the wait. The food is great pad Thai is excellent.
Padthai was too salty & too sour for my taste. Curry was good. Service is ok.
Unfortunately because of a political sticker which takes sides in a specific current event, I will not be returning to Pompui. Yes you can post whatever you like on your window and yes I can and will boycott your restaurant. I will also tell my friends about your political stance.
This is a situation which has and continues to affect my family on a daily basis and I take great offence.
For those seeking an authentic Thai dining experience in Montreal, Épicerie Pumpui is a must-visit. From its delectable mango sticky rice to its flavour-packed main courses, the restaurant captures the essence of Thai cuisine in a welcoming environment. Whether you’re a longtime Thai food enthusiast or a newcomer eager to explore, Pumpui promises a memorable culinary journey.
I loooooooooooooove this place. Honestly the sticky mango rice oufff.
And the pad thai with their lil side chili sauce. Fck me UP girl. It is niceeeeeeeeeeeee
The employees are super sweet too. Ofc will return.
The tofu Pad Thai wasn't vegetarian, which was odd (it has fish sauce in it) and there were only 2 vegetarian options. I got the veggie curry stew that came with rice. The quality was really good, but I can't say that it was a bit pricy!
I guess they’re reading their reviews because 1) we received a warm welcome when we arrived, they were very patient with my French, and I watched the waitstaff do their best to manage expectations with walk-ins when all tables were full and 2) when I ordered the kaprao I was asked to comment if we want full or medium spicy. I loved that the egg yolk was served runny - getting that right consistently requires attention, and mine lapses a lot at home!
Maybe I missed it but I would have loved to finish off the meal with a Thai milk tea or a bowl of red ruby. If Pumpui runs a summer special for either of those, I’ll be back for sure!

Food is amazing , good portions and reasonable prices . The servers are cold and unwelcoming , restaurant decor is cute but the place is small . I suggest you order take out to avoid dealing with the servers
Delicious authentic thai food!
Pad Thai is amazing, but Pad Kapora is way tooooo spicy 🥵 it's a torture, be careful.
Food is amazing! It’s fresh, portions are generous, and the flavors are harmonious. Most things are a little spicy so beware if you’re not used to it. Atmosphere is intimate. Mango sticky rice changed my life!
Cute cozy place for Thai food. Presentation and taste felt very homey.
