Super cool atmosphere, however there was one manager I think who really ruined the vibe. I believe her name was verohniqueue.

Great food, medium service but no functional bathrooms!! How is this even allowed without functional bathrooms?

During my visit, I witnessed the manager publicly scolding a young employee without reason. I found this very unprofessional and uncomfortable as it created a negative atmosphere. Criticism should be handled in private, not in front of customers. This left me with a bad impression of the place.

A cafe on restaurant row on Monkland Avenue in Montreal. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly but harried staff. We found the food to be just ok. Dog friendly.

I’ve been here twice. The first time I was here, I didn’t get very attentive service. The second time it was better.

My wife and I were out for a stroll on Monkland Ave in Montreal on Sunday when we decided to have a look at the menu of the Pigeon Cafe restaurant. We approached the cafe and noticed there was no menu posted in the window. We looked for a menu near the entrance but there were none, There was a lineup to get into the place. We wanted to look at the menu before lining up, so we entered the restaurant and found some menus near the hostess station. We were glancing at it when the hostess on duty (Sunday Aug 24, 2025/12:30 PM) snatched the menu from our hands and told us to get to the end of the line! We explained we had no issues with waiting in line but wanted to see the menu first, and since there was no menu posted at the front of the restaurant, we had entered the place in order to find one. She told us to go to the back of the line and we could see a menu when we were seated. This is ridiculous - why wait 20-30 miniutes in line just to see a menu we do not like and then leave. This hostess was rude and unprofessional. Anyway, reading other reviews of the Pigeon Cafe afterwards, we felt like we had avoided a bullet since it appears that the food is ordinary (or worse), the service is slow, the prices are atmospheric, and the place is packed with Yuppies who appear to 'want nothing more than to be seen in this so-called trendy place....
