They MICROWAVE, Veal +Pasta ++……seriously. If owner response indicates this is OK, then we all know it is not a place to go eat. Funny enough several posts about Microwave and one of the responses form the owner “you can request additional cooking of your choice and to your taste without problem!” Funny enough when I requested for my food be put in the oven the lady told me it will take time. I’m OK with that, I told her. When the food was ready, she kindly told me “We usually don’t do this as it would take too much time if everyone asked us” We’ll I kindly my response back to waitress “I usually don’t go back to places like this, if 1-food not good, 2-get a response like I did, 3 – pay a $20.00 meal which I can have better food, service at another location. I eat out every day for lunch for the past 20 years, and this place is NOT a repeat experience.

Never again....... First time back since Motta... It's not the same and I think that some employees working there are mindless ........ Please check your cleanliness of the place and your equipment you use...I was eating the meatballs at home and this could have been a bad situation..STEEL...VERY BAD situation won't be back for sure now

Pastries degraded considerably from what Motta used to have. The owner Umberto is very accommodating and welcoming but some of the employees are downright rude. Perhaps they should be replaced with those who like to work with the public.

MOTTA was an institution in Montreal. EVERYTHING was good, fresh with very reasonable prices, before the owner sold her business which is now called EMPERIUM. The new owners tend to offer poor quality, outdated properties and very, very high prices.
I have been a customer at MOTTA for 33 years... and it's been a year since I last set foot at EMPERIUM which is a real insult to real Italian cuisine! And it says it offers 'Fine Italian cuisine'. What a farce!
